GOV UDUAGHAN TO FLAG OFF 2012 GES PROGRAMME FOR CASSAVA FARMERS



Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan will on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 flag off the ROLL OUT OF GROWTH ENHANCEMENT SUPPORT (GES) Prpgramme for cassava farmers in the state.

A statement signed by the State Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Barr. Misan Ukubeyinje said that the programme which will hold at Oleh in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State will be launched under the Agricultural Transformation Agency of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development  in conjunction with the state Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources .

The statement further said that 15 bundles of high yielding cassava varieties and 50% support of two bags of NPK 12:12:17+ Agrodyzer would be distributed to farmers free of charge for 2012 planting season.

It said that following the launching of the programme, the distribution of the planting materials would commence at other GES redemption centres across the state same day.

Accordingly, all top government functionaries, Permanent Secretaries, Head of Personnel Management in the 25 Local Government Councils of the state, Chairmen and members of Statutory Boards and Commissions, cassava farmers and other stakeholders in the Delta State Project are invited to attend the ceremony.
