The Lord has given me a new lease of life……….Asagba of Asaba

The Asagba of Asaba, HRM Obi Prof. Chike Edozien, at the grand reception organized by the traditional red cap and palace chiefs, community title holders, youth and women leaders for the successful return to Asaba after under going medical treatments abroad, appreciated his subject’s expression of love.

The who is who in Asaba and Anioma Nation graced the royal return at the Asaba International Airport.
At the monarch’s palace, where more of the subjects,  friends of the town, Anioma ethnic nationalities, Arewa and Oduduwa communities resident in the town took turn to demonstrate their renewed loyalty to the throne.

In his keynote address, chief P.I.G Onyeobi JP, the Iyase of Asaba, remarked that this is not the first time the king had cause to travel out of the country, but maintained that this particular trip has generated more tension than ever before amongst the people of Asaba and her well wishers.

Chief Onyeobi highlighted the current social wave in contrast to what was the town’s normal social interactions, thus: we (Asaba People) are normally a very peace loving people who endeavor to love our neighbors as ourselves and share the joy and sorrows of one another, but it appears times are changing and the atmosphere is pervaded by some wicked elements who only wish the worst for innocent people.

Addressing the monarch, Chief Onyeobi summed his gratitude thus: AGU, you are welcome back to your subjects who love you and wish you well. May God give you many more years of fruitful service to Asaba, Delta State and Nigeria.  We look forward under your able leadership to more meaningful reforms and development that will help transform meaningful the lives of our people positively and make us key and relevant players in this 21st century.

True to his calling, the Asagba of Asaba, HRM Obi Prof. Chike Edozien, in his welcome address thanked his subjects for the massive royal reception both at the airport and at his palace.

I am grateful to the lord for this new lease of life granted to me, it is a call to duty to serve my people with better insight and prospect, the monarch maintained.

In his speech the royal father drew the attention of all to what he termed the Anioma Dream and Asaba Goals.

The Anioma Dream has as top priority, the creation of Anioma State, while if that dream does not materialize, the second option shall be that all other senatorial zones most allow and support the emergence of the next state governor from delta north senatorial district.

The Asaba goals are attainable on the premise of turning the land into a hub of educational and economic expansion, drawing from the historical antecedents of the town, these two pillars of advancement and development were the real foundations of the town’s past glories and greatness.

Obi Prof. Chike Edozien highlighted that for his subjects and Anioma people to realize these dreams and goals, there is need for attitudinal change, peace, honesty, security, integrity, communal spirit, hard work and industrial spirit.
