UDUAGHAN COMMENDED FOR ACCELERATED DEVELOPMENT

The Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, has been commended for the accelerated rate of development in the state, particularly in Asaba.

The National Vice President of the Madonna University Alumni Association (MUAA), Mr. Anokpute A. Anokpute, who gave the commendation in Asaba during a visit to the Mother of Grace Orphanage Home to present some gift items as part of its activities to mark the end of year party of the association, called on government to focus more in the area of road construction.

Mr. Anokpute said that the decision to celebrate with the less privilege was as a result of its determination to give a sense of belonging to the orphans and vulnerable children in the society.

In their separate remarks, the State President and the Provost of the association, Barr. Chukwuemeke Odogwu and Chukwudi Asoya, who is an Information Officer in the State Ministry of Information, said that the association was passionate about the plights of the less privileged.

They called on good spirited persons to come to the aid of the orphans and vulnerable persons in the society by contributing towards the upliftment of their welfare, even as the duo recalled that they had donated educational materials to the children of the orphanage home when the association earlier visited on January, 2012.

Earlier in a thanksgiving service, the Parish Priest of the Zappa Catholic Church, Asaba, Rev Fr.  Franklin Odiaka enjoined Christians to always show love to one another.
