The All Progressive
Congress (APC) National Convention which held in Abuja on Friday saw the South
East being overlooked during the selection of the national leaders of the
party.
The convention which
took place at night Elombah.con observed did not give room to an Igbo man to
speak or make contribution apart from the Master of Ceremony.
We gathered authoritatively
that Senator Chris Ngige who came to the Eagle Square venue with his prepared
speech was not allowed to deliver it. Attempts by him to make a case for it,
our source said led to a shouting match between him and some northern
politicians which almost saw him physically manhandled.
Ngige fared better
than Senator Annie Okonkwo who was frog-marched out of the venue having been
earlier suspended as National Vice-Chairman, East.
The end process of the
election saw the South East completely cheated as they got no important
position.
