NGO’S HIV/AIDS INTERVENTION PROJECT IMPACTS DEEPER….LGA BOSS





The Aniocha North Transition Committee Chairman, Chief Sunday.Y. Chukwuedo observed that HIV/AIDS intervention projects implemented by non-state actors and charity organizations leave lasting impact in the lives of the people and communities where such projects are implemented.

The council boss maintained the above position during a recent advocacy visit to the council office by an HIV/AIDS intervention implementation Non-Government Organization, Koyenum Immalah Foundation(KIF), led by the organization’s Executive Director, Faith Nwadishi.

Faith Nwadishi in her address to the council boss and other principal health officers of the council remarked that within the period of 20 months, the project will impact at its pilot phase 200 women of chil bearing age with the Prevention of Mother To Child Transmission(PMTCT) intervention.

Our organization is one of the recipients of the World Bank and Delta State Action Committee on AIDS (DELSACA) ON THE Delta State HIV/AIDS Programme Development Project 2(HPDP2).

The intervention project will be implemented in three communities within the council area, with eight Traditional Birth Attendants (TBAs) and fifteen uniform Service Men involved and impacted upon within the projects life-span of 20 months, Nwadishi said.

The impressed council boss in his response appreciated the organization’s commitment to work in his council area and that this is not the first time the organization is working in the council for the interest and good of the people at the grassroot.

Your HIV/AIDS intervention project in our local government is a welcome development, we appreciate all your commitment to compliment governments effort.

No people or nation can achieve more than the stamina their health status can afford them, their overall productivity is a function of their wellness, hence, we will partner actively with your organization, Chief Chukwuedo promised.

Our organization’s programs are built around good governance, human rights, HIV/AIDS and Community Development Initiatives, with special focus on women, children and youth at grassroot levelsand their well-being, Nwadishi pointed out.

Your organization’s past projects in this council had great impact on our people, I believe that this current project will further impact on my people and strengthen our working partnership on positive impact to the people at the grassroot level, Chief Chukwuedo emphasized.
