• Age Grade, Political Party Youth Leaders Task Government
Okonta Emeka Okelum, Asaba, Delta State
As the end of the year’s festive period draws closer and Asaba Youth’s preparedness towards it heats up, the town’s apex youth organizational leadership has raised a voice of caution and appeal for solidarity.
The current apex leadership of Asaba youth bodies, under the auspices of Asaba Progressive Youths (APY) led by Ogbueshi Dada Okonji in a media chat with Asaba Post News-Wire shared his concerns for Asaba Youth during this year’s yuletide festive period.
Ogbueshi Dada Okonji is saddled with the responsibility of leading Asaba apex youth body (Asaba Progressive Youths, A.K.A Ikolobia Ahaba Nnebisi) as its National President.
In his yuletide message to Asaba Youths and made available to Asaba Post News-Wire, Ogbueshi Dada Okonji , thanked God for the preservance of life and peace granted unto Ahaba Youths and charged the youths on the need to project the right attitude during the yuletide celebrations.
I appeal to Asaba youths to shun needless fights, quarrels and bickering that in the past led to needless cult clashes and bloodshed.
Asaba youths should avoid or better still reduce substance abuse, drunkenness, dangerous cult activities, they should uphold brotherliness and sustain current peace in the town.
It is my wish that our Asaba youths focus more on entrepreneurship and independent job creation opportunities, increased educational pursuit, as had being the identity of our fore fathers, Ogbueshi Dada Okonji told our reporter.
Asaba Post News-Wire also engaged other Asaba youth-led age grades leadership and partisan political party youth leaders within Oshimili South Local Government Area on the state of affairs.
Mr Patrick Onyelukachukwu Okolo, Eze-Ogbo, Ife Onye Wepu Anya Age Grade, told our reporter that the current federal and state governments should do more to impact Asaba Youths on Job creation, employment, infrastructural development and wealth creation.
The leadership of Ife Oma Onye Bu Na Obi Age Grade, under the leadership of Mr Afam Okpuno through its Secretary, Mr Ebo Keziem, charged the government on creating more entrepreneurship opportunities for Asaba Youths.
Both Youth Age Grade leaders tasked governments at all levels to increase their response to all Asaba based infrastructural development, industrialization, public amenities and scaling up the state capital status of Asaba Metropolis, to reflect its true status and advance more human development opportunities to Asaba Youths.
In a related development, youth leaders of both the All Progressive Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Oshimili South Local Government Area, Mr Okey Onwuka and Mr Uchechukwuka Onuorah J.P respectively spoke with our reporter.
Both political party youth leaders called on all young political actors in the town to maintain level headedness, socialize in unity, shun all acts of violence and seek more opportunities to advance one another.
I call on our government at all levels to kindly remember our youth in the coming year, as the youths need their support to realize their future career, professional and entrepreneurial aspirations, Mr Okey Onwuka of All Progressive Congress said.
We need the government to always seek more opportunities to fix more youths into their empowerment, appointments and other political benefits, Mr Uchechukwuka Onuorah said.
I beg our political leaders to allow democracy dividends get down to our youths at the grassroot level, especially those we know actively participated in grassroot politics.
Our political leaders and elders should always allow us the youth leaders suggest those active youths political empowerment should get to.
We demand that we be consulted before youths are so empowered, so that there will be peace amongst us at the grassroot, Mr. Onuorah J.P. told Asaba Post News-Wire.
