It appears as if most Nigerians are now resolved to find the path to a free and fair election, where the masses will speak. As opposed to zoning. We do not need to turn to the President who has demonstrated severally his resolve to make sure that the INEC get all they require to achieve an hitch free election. The person to turn to is the INEC Chairman, Professor Jega. He is not being refused any thing he needs.
As our elders say Agbatan la angba ole, ti a ba da aso fun ole, se ni ka ba palaro. Mo toro gaafara o. If you are going to help an helpless man, then go the whole way. If you want to give him a garment, then dye it, even embroider it. I take leave from our elders. The fate of Nigeria is in the hands of Professor Jega. He only needs to ask for resources, and he will get them.
It is definitely not enough to ask for money for voters' register. The big question is 'How will multiple registration and voting be forestalled?' This is the billion naira question that will make or mar Professor Jega in this national assignment that he has chosen to take up. This is the determining factor that will separate the men from the boys. This is what will set Nigeria on the path of greatness. This is what can change Nigeria.
A new voters' register does not solve the problem on ground. It is easy to imagine how it can be manipulated. The key is to block all loopholes.
The NIGCOMsat crew has submitted a proposal on e Voting and registration which has a cost that is a fraction of what Professor Jega has asked for. These people are Nigerians here at home, who really understand the problem. Their proposal will save the country foreign exchange. If they can convince all Nigerians in a presentation. And these people are respectable Nigerians. Then it may be expedient for them to be given the job.
NIGCOMSAT would not make spurious claims. They are a respectable government agency. Professor Jega is no doubt willing to succeed where others failed. We have all we need.

I do hope NIGCOMSAT is aware of PATENT NG/P/2010/283 registered in Nigeria, as their e-voting and e-registration solutions are clearly infringing on this patent and they will surely get sued if they go ahead with their solutions without seeking appropriate license from the patent owners.
