LAND COMMISSIONER ENJOINS LAND OWNERS TO OBTAIN CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY

Property owners in the Government Reservation Area (GRA) in the state have been enjoined to obtain their duly signed Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) from the Ministry of Lands, Survey and Urban Development.

In addition, the allottees have been warned on the dangers of turning their approved residential building plan into commercial purposes without valid approvals from the ministry.

This warning was contained in a Press Release handed over by the Delta State Commissioner for Lands, Surveys and Urban Development, Sir Ferife Patrick in his office at Asaba.

The Release stated the importance of complying with the approved lay down rules and regulations governing property development in the Government Reservation Areas in order not to turn the area into slumps.

It also emphasized that any property owner allocated plots for the past two years without developing such plots stood the risk of forfeiting the plot to the State Government.

The Release called on those allottees in the Government Reservation Area to comply with the directive contained on the “pink paper” issued as regards years of developing such property.

Sir Ferife also highlighted that the ministry would soon embark on demolition of illegal structures and waned all state land allottees to comply with the terms of their allotment.
