Senator’s state wide empowerment program scatters sunshine

Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa in the spirit of gratitude came home to demonstrate appreciation to his party leaders, members and supporters.

The Friday empowerment program at Asaba originally according to some sources was planned for Delta North Senatorial District, later turned out a state wide carnival of supporters and empowerment.

The second empowerment program was designed to create opportunity for the Senator to reach out to the people, reduce their pains and stress as a result of unemployment and other social pressure as well as build hope for the future.

I have been in the Senate for 33 months, I have also tried to be a good representative, by being focused, knowing that competence, character and commitment defines the level of one’s success story, Senator Okowa shares with Asaba Post News-Wire.

Answering questions on his roles in the Senate, Senator Okowa confirmed to us that he has in the past 33 months sponsored twelve bills and believed that when all these bills are passed and signed into law, the people’s lives will be impacted positively.

Beneficiaries were drawn from all the local government councils within the three senatorial districts of the state.

Senator Okowa expressed appreciation to the President and the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Millenium Development Goals, whose office donated 100 out of the 150 tricycles beneficiaries smiled home with.

The empowerment program gave out 123 sewing machines, 56 grinding machines, 25 deep freezers, 20 photocopying machines, 20 computer sets and its accessories.

The program was gender friendly as 250 women drawn from the three senatorial districts received cash grants to support their commercial and agricultural enterprises.

Senator  Okowa donated one Nissan High roof bus to the Delta State Primary Health Care Agengy and nine ambulances, one each to the nine local government councils within the Delta North Senatorial District to assist in monitoring and providing technical support in Primary Health Care Delivery and Referral.

Ogbueshi Douglas Okolotu and Chief David Omoru in their media chat with Asaba Post News-Wire expressed gratitude,  deepen commitment and loyalty to the Okowa Campaign organization.

Ogbueshi  Okolotu pointed out that why this event is out standing is because in a short stay in office, Senator Okowa has looked home twice and even gone beyond his senatorial district, a gesture first of its kind in the state.

Chief Omoru in the same spirit thanked the Senator for counting his senatorial district worthy of benefitting from his empowerment program.

Both maintained that there is no political motivation or under tone attached to the empowerment program, but stressed that what Deltans are witnessing today is an expression of the pro-life values the senator believes in.
