Okonta Emeka Okelum, Asaba, Delta State

The dream that soon Asaba will regain her lost past glories has had its foundation laid at the wake of this new year, with the emergence of Oganihu Ahaba Summit.

A front line youth leader, politician and community development icon, Hon. Nwanze Oduah, inspired by the relative gaps and challenges that has severely negated the town’s advancement, sought partnership with othe Ani Ahaba like minds, at championing a new direction for the land.

For the first time in the new year, Hon. Nwanze Oduah envisioned, planned and partnered in one accord with other great mind to make the maiden edition of Oganihu Ahaba Summit possible.

The highly publicsided and well attended event, witnessed the active participation of well meaning Ani Ahaba children both those at home and those from Diaspora.

When our reporter asked him what motivated him to embark upon this new cause of action, his response unveil that of a visionary stateman, role model for Ani Ahaba Youths.

During my growing up days, I saw great communal love and oneness, we lived as one large family, but today, what is the order of the day, that love is gone, dis-unity is everywhere.

Such trend cannot continue, that is not who we are as a people, love and unity was what Ani Ahaba people were known for, this the summit sought to establish, Hon Oduah pointed out.

Sharing further insights with our reporter, Hon. Nwanze Oduah observed that the summit was designed to seek out proactive and action oriented measures that will positively impact youths and women.

He mentioned how in less than one week after the summit, positive impact is already registered.

At the summit two great Ahaba sons promised to impact on our widows and as I speak with you now, widows from the five quarters of the town celebrated the festive season with Ogbueshi Dada Okonji and Ogbueshi Eugene Umunna, where gifts, food items and cash was handed over to the widows by these kind Ani Ahaba youth leaders, Hon Oduah stressed.

On the nature of Oganihu Ahaba platform, Hon. Oduah told Asaba Post News-Wire that it is a non political platform, it is open to all Ahaba children, especially those who are ready to contribute to the development and advancement of the land and her people, membership is still open.

We are planning to roll out a massive youth and women empowerment project by next Easter holiday.
The success recorded so far after the summit ended must be sustained through human and community development initiatives as envisioned in Oganihu Ahaba founding documents.

Supporting our youths to overcoming the lure and lust of violent crimes, cult activities, drug and substance abuse as well as other negative tendencies alien to Ani Ahaba are pro-youth development engagement and commitment of floating Oganihu Ahaba, Hon Nwanze Oduah said.
