Oshimili South PDP Passes Vote of Confidence on Okowa; Onwusanya; Okonji others, Calls for Greater Unity.

The Oshimili South LGA Chapter of the People's Democratic Party PDP, has passed a vote of confidence on the State Governor, Sen Ifeanyi Okowa; former Speaker and member representing Oshimili South Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Peter Onwusanya; State PDP Chairman, Barr Kingsley Esiso; Delta North Senatorial Chairman, Hon Moses Iduh and the LGA Chairman of the PDP Ogbueshi Dada Okonji..

The LGA Vice Chairman of the party, Hon Somadina Anwasia moved the stakeholders meeting in Asaba to pass the vote of confidence, seconded by Hon Eloke Asiekwu and was unanimously adopted by the party.

While passing the vote of confidence, the stakeholders observed that Gov Okowa and other recipients had worked hard to strengthen the party and called for more support and prayers.

Earlier, the LGA Chairman of the party, Ogbueshi Dada Okonji aka Blackman, said the PDP was strong in the area, adding that Oshimili South is the stronghold of the PDP as the party has no opposition in the area.

Ogbueshii Okonji told the meeting that Oshimili South PDP would host the state leadership of the party on Nov 10, 2016 as part of their state-wide familiarization tour.

He pointed out that the visit was aimed at strengthening the unity of the party and would afford the state chairman the opportunity to obtain a first hand information of the activities of the party in the local government and reconcile aggrieved members.

The PDP Boss therefore urged the party faithful to be punctual to accord a rousing welcome to the chairman and his entourage.

He enjoined the members to be steadfast with the party as they would always be carried along in the scheme of things.

Other stakeholders who also spoke at the meeting, including Hon Onwusanya; Dr Ononye and Ogbueshi Nwanze Odua commended Ogbueshi Okonji and his executives for uniting the members and reconciling aggrieved members and promised the support of the stakeholders in moving the party forward.

In a brief interview, a woman leader, Nwanna Uche Maryanna while adding her support to the said vote of confidence, extolled the leadership qualities of Ogbueshi Okonji, stressing that the achievement recorded by the party within the short period of Okonji's current tenure as the LGA Chairman was unprecedented in the history of the PDP in Oshimili South.

She said Okonji has made a mark in repositioning the party and reaffirmed the total support of the stakeholders of the party including the women for Okonji to succeed.
