Warri Crisis Nearly Marred Ibori’s Administration……….. Elue

The former deputy Governor of Delta State, Chief B.S.C. Elue, recalled how the Warri wars nearly messed up the leadership of Chief James Ibori led administration.

While delivering his Opening keynote address as the chairman of the 50th birthday lecture and public book presentations, in honor of comrade Ovuozourie Samuel Macaulay, the Delta State Commissioner for Energy, recently at Asaba.

Chief Elue appreciated the holistic and creative leadership approach with which comrade Macaulay employed at managing the Warri crisis.

The Ibori led administration faced the greatest politically motivated crisis in the history of the state, the scale and nature of the Warri wars it witnessed with not be witnessed again in the state, is my sincere elder state man desire for Delta State “, Elue prayed.

The Ibori led administration in sharp contrast to the Warri crisis and in partnership with the state ministry of justice, set up the conflict resolution mechanism agency, of which comrade Macaulay headed as a special adviser to the state Governor “, chief Elue recalled.

The agency was charged with the responsibility of identifying the root-causes of the crisis, addressing and seeking out result- oriented avenues of resolving the crisis in the war –torn Warri Township.

“In strengthening the conflict resolution mechanism agency Delta State today has gained a progressive leap, especially, with the creation of the Alternative Dispute resolution (ADR) department, in partnership with the state’s ministry of Justice” chief Elue pointed out.

“Comrade Samuel macular has developed great capacity in the core areas of good governance, conflict resolution, communal peace, grass root development and advancement initiatives” the former deputy Governor said.
