FUNKEKEME ENJOINS DELTANS TO GIVE SOLACE TO THE NEEDY, LESS PRIVILEGED

Deltans have been enjoined to reach out and impact positively on the lives of the less privileged and the needy in the society especially during this yuletide season.

The Hon. Commissioner for Works, Rt. Hon Funkekeme Solomon stated this today while presenting food and gift items to various old peoples’ and orphanage homes in the state.

Rt. Hon Funkekeme who was represented by the Director of Administration, Mr. Aguonye Chuks, said that it was imperative to reach out to the less privileged in the society to make them have a sense of belonging.

He said that it was a moral obligation to take care of the less privileged and persons in need in our community adding that such good gestures endear man to God.

While acknowledging that the yuletide season is a period of love and giving, Rt. Hon. Funkekeme explained that the ministry was reaching out to the less privileged in various Orphanages and Old peoples’ homes in the three senatorial districts to put smiles on their faces and to show that it cared for them.

AT the St. Joseph Old Peoples Home, Asaba and the Shalom Orphanage Foundation where the Commissioner presented food and gift items to the inmates, Rt. Hon. Funkekeme admonished the inmates not to despair but to have faith in God, saying that God would meet all their needs.

He commended the proprietors of the homes for the care they had rendered to the less privileged in the society and called on Deltans to always reach out to the needy and less privileged in the society.

In their separate responses, Rev. Sr. Justine, the coordinator of the St. Joseph Old Peoples Home and Mrs. Roseline Awatefe of the Shalom Orphanage Foundation, expressed their gratitude to Rt. Hon. Funkekeme for his kind gesture and prayed that God showers His abundant blessings on the management and staff of the ministry.
