The US Embassy for Peace to Co-Host the Nigerian Mentorship
Week and the official inauguration of Nigerian American Alliance on Mentorship from 15th-25th
July 2014.

The US Embassy for Peace (USEP) is to co-host the Nigerian Mentorship Week (NMW) alongside the office of the Special Adviser to the Nigerian President on Ethics and Values and the
Nigerian American Alliance on Mentorship (NAAM) from 15th-25th July 2014.

2. The USEP is a public charity 501(c)(3) domiciled in USA, aimed at creating developmental
relationships among peoples and nations through enterprise mentoring,
international capacity building, manpower resources and nonviolent social change while Nigerian American Alliance on Mentorship; a USEP affiliate project is an international alliance of Nigerian
and American people and organizations united for the National Mentorship
Programme (NMP).

3. The USEP has operated in Nigeria since 2009 as a non-state diplomatic mission and secondary through its subsidiary Nigerian based organization; the Centre for Diplomacy and
Development (CDD). The USEP provides technical support for the National
Mentorship Office and the Nigerian Inter-Ministerial for the National
Mentorship Programme (IMC-NMP), a special committee comprising of Nigerian
ministries, extra-ministerial bodies and civil Society Organizations including the
Federal Ministry of Youth Development, the Special Adviser to the President on
Ethics and Values (SA-PEV) Bureau for Public Service Reforms (BPSR), Ministry
of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and Great Transformation Support Initiative (GTSI)


4. The Nigerian Mentorship Week (NMW) is part of the joint Implementation efforts of the Nigerian IMC-NMP and is designed to provide a showcase for mentorship activities in support of the National
Mentorship Programme and to create a coordinated support from the United States
for the Nigerian people focusing on job creation, ethics, values, civics,
education and inclusiveness in government business as a proactive to defeat
terrorism in Africa.


5. The highpoints of the NMW will include a display of activities on US companies who are Mentorship
establishments within the National Mentorship Programme and display of Nigerian
mentees who have been selected to benefit from the week’s Diplomatic
Sensitization Workshops, individual mentorship agreements, Business excursions
and international best practices on Civics Ethics and Mentorship in designated
US States and Cities.

6. The Great Transformation Support Initiative (GTSI) is sponsoring the Nigerian delegation who comprise of Volunteer mentors, Mentorship Officers and establishments within the
participating states where the National Mentorship de-Radicalization Project
(NMdRP) is currently running in both southern and Northern States of Nigeria. The
attendance of the Nigeria team will enable participating US companies make the
first contacts towards rewarding cultural exchange, information on
Complementary Markets, Manpower Resources, Corporate Linkages and inclusion in
US Public Diplomacy.

8. NMW Special events and fundraising projects will in line of the private funding initiative of the
National Mentorship Programme include GTSI Solidarity Rally, Mentorship
Instrumentation, Nigerian Mentorship Awards, and launch of International Mentorship
Facility Abuja (IMFA), official inauguration of Nigerian American Alliance for
Mentorship (NAAM) and US Mentorship Offices.
