Nwaka Calls For More Unity Among Indigenes of Aniocha South LG.

The member representing Aniocha South Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Angela Nwaka has called on people of the area to pool their resources together for the rapid development of the local government area.

Nwaka who gave the advice in an interview, charged the people to be more united and speak with one voice on issues concerning the local government , noting that through a collective will of the Aniocha South people, the local government will be giving more development opportunities in the state.

The lawmaker described the second session of the 6th assembly as significant, noting that the unity of purpose existing among the lawmakers in the business of the House has translated to the passage of 18 bills out of the 34 bills presented to the House, while 12 bills received the governor’s assent.
Nwaka said though the country was passing through perilous times due to the current economic recession that made it difficult for government to deliver desired dividends of democracy to the people, she has resolved to work harder in the third legislative year to ensure her constituency receive what was due to them.

She commended Gov Ifeanyi Okowa for approving road constructions in some parts of Aniocha South during her tenure in the House, noting that as part of her constituency project, she had equally rehabilitated the Idumu Iyase road in Ubulu-Okiti; the Government Hospital in Ogwashi-Uku, the Obidi-Ugbo Primary School at Ejeme-Aniogor and provided school equipment, books and writing materials to some schools among others, adding that she was focused to attracting more projects to the area.

The female lawmaker said aside empowering people in the area, including the less-privileged, vulnerable children, widows, youths and market women, she had granted financial assistants to brilliant students from the area who were incapacitated due to lack of funds.

Angela said she would in no distance time award scholarships to more students from Aniocha South and would provide more funds to enable more beneficiaries enjoy her financial aids and payments of their house rents as part of her social responsibility to the people of the area.

While commending political leaders in the state and Aniocha South in particular for their astute management of the PDP, Nwaka called for more supports and prayers for the Okowa administration and for her success in the remaining tenure.
