In a bid to ensure that quality
delivery of government’s projects by contractors, the Commissioner for Project
Monitoring in the state, Mr. Ifeanyi Osuoza has continued the inspection of
some projects across the state.
Mr.
Osuoza visited Ezechima Grammar School, Obior in Aniocha North Local Government
Area where he frowned at the poor standard of the on-going project in the
school.
He
said that the renovation and upgrading of the science laboratory hall staff
room and 3 classroom blocks including the doors and windows should be carried
out according to specifications.
In
an interview with journalists, the Vice Principal of the School (Academics),
Mrs Ohai Elizabeth who said that the job was poorly done, appealed to State
Government to handover the newly constructed 3 classroom blocks the school.
At
Alohen Primary School, Ute-Alohen in Ika North-East Local Government Area, work
was on-going at the site where it was observed that the Project Engineer did
not remove the already existing building before erecting a building on it.
The
commissioner later visited Baptist High School, Agbor in Ika South Local
Government Area, where he expressed satisfaction at the quality of work done by
the contractor and called on other contractors to emulate the good work.
At
Alisimie Mixed Secondary School, Alisimie also in Ika South Local Government
Area, the commissioner applauded the quality of job at the school.
The
commissioner concluded the task for the day with a visit to Igbodo Secondary
School, Igbodo in Ika North-East Local Government Area where he frowned at the
spate of work in the school.
