Parents have been advised to brace up to the challenges of bringing up their children with the fear of God as that is the only way they can live a virtuous life.
A resident pastor incharge of the New life Winners Church, Okpanam, Pastor Ikechukwu Joshua, who gave the advice during the child dedication of Mr. and Mrs Emuji Magnus, who is an Information Officer in the Delta State Ministry of Information, said that it was result oriented for parents to always guide their children properly on the consequences of life without believing in God.
The Clergyman said that parents should mould their children’s life in line with the doctrines of the lord Jesus Christ, adding that they should at all times inculcate the Ten Commandments to their wards.
Speaking shortly after the dedication, Mr. Emuji Information enjoined parents to desist from exhibiting acts capable of influencing their wards negatively in their various homes, saying that children could be easily influenced by those things they often see their parents do.
He stated that the event would continue to remain indelible in his heart, saying that it was worthy to appreciate God for the life of the baby who he decried
Mr. Emuji, however, decried the high spate of insecurity in the north as a result of the destructive activities of the Islamic sect, otherwise known as bokoharam, emphasising that such ugly development would continue to send negative picture about the country to the international communities, thereby limiting the investment opportunities that would have been attracted to the country.
He reaffirmed that insecurity of lives and properties, especially in the north was the major challenge militating against the nation’s democracy, while calling for a sovereign national conference from where consensus of the grievances of all parts of the country would be articulated.
The Information Officer commended his friends and associates, who were largely staff of the State Ministry of Information, Asaba for identifying with his family in thanking God for the life of his baby and wished them well in their various endeavours.
