Total Destruction of the Judiciary for Criminal Subversion of the Constitution

Scan-News observes with sadness and trepidation the deliberate destruction of the Judiciary by the failed APC Federal Government.  It started with the midnight arrests of judges and snowballed into the vicious attacks on the Retired CJN.

The goal was clear. Frighten the Judiciary for the purpose of attacking the foundation of democracy.  It is not surprising  that the NJC had no choice but to recommend  the retirement of Justice Walter Onoghen and the enthronement of Buhari's CJN.

Going forward, they plan to negatively use to Judiciary to rape the nation's  constitution and democracy.  Already, the PDP has raised the alarm on the plot against Rivers State by the Minister of Justice,  Malami, Minister of Transportation,  Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and Buhari's CJN on their plot to review  the Supreme Court judgment on Rivers APC and their lawful removal from the ballot.

Scan-News condemns this new craze of  using the Judiciary against Nigerian democracy.  In Bauchi and Adamawa,  the APC Federal Government almost derailed the emergence of Governors through needless Judicial manipulation.

It baffles us that the APC Federal Government excels only in the area of using State institutions to destroy social growth. There is virtually no other area where the Administration has performed.

Scan-News calls on lawyers, the media, credible civil society groups and well-meaning Nigerians to rise in defence of democracy.  We must not stand idly and watch agents of criminality destroy our democracy.
