Wike's Re-election: Rivers Youths Sure of Fruitful Second Term

As Rivers people continue to celebrate the victory of Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike,  Rivers Youths have explained that they voted the Rivers State Governor because he has proved to be a politician of integrity.

They declared that they defended their votes and many youths paid the ultimate price because the political elevation of Rivers youths  rests with a Wike victory.

On Friday , thousands of the youths under the platform of One Million Youths for New Rivers State gathered in Port Harcourt from the 23 Local Government Areas to celebrate the victory of Governor Wike at the polls.

The mass celebration was heralded by prayers, thanksgiving , praise and worship,  with the youths returning all Glory to God who helped them to frustrate the evil devices of the Nigerian Army.

Coordinator of One Million Youths for New Rivers State, Rt Hon Ehie Edison said millions of youths from across the 23 Local Government Areas were mobilised  to contribute meaningfully  to the re-election of Governor Wike.

He said from early 2018, One Million Youths for New Rivers State worked in a determined fashion to sell Governor Wike to Rivers people through superlative campaigns at the level of the 319 wards and 4442 Polling Units.

He said: "As you are aware , this is 1million project for Governor Wike since early last year. We started as Rivers youths who are desirous for continuity of His Excellency and PDP all round . Flowing from what the governor of Rivers state has done for Rivers people, we decided to come out en-mass to champion this wonderful cause.

"We moved with our number, in our thousands across the 319 wards,communities and LGAs in Rivers state. We informed Rivers people, sharing pamphlets of the achievements,numerous achievements across sectors of His Excellency, the governor of Rivers state and youths keyed into the ideas . We were able to hit the desired 1 million number of Rivers youths to vote massively for the governor of Rivers state".

He added: " This victory didn't come easy . A lot of Rivers people, the youths lost their lives in the course of campaigning and during the election" .

While paying tribute to Late Former Ahoada West Local Government Area Coordinator , EFCC Chiko and other youths killed during the elections, Edison said that the youths will benefit more from Governor Wike's re-election.

He explained  that though the victory of Governor Wike did not come easy, Rivers youths are happy  that their investments in him have come to fruition.

He said: "We came in our numbers voted massively,  defended , protected our votes and we ensured our future is secured for the governor and PDP because it is only a government under Wike that the youths are  sure of political elevation, economic survival.

 "These barbaric people wanted to come back by all means to take back what belongs to us at all cost and send to their children and family alone. Thank God, we give him all the glory. We know His Excellency is a man of his word. He will pay the youths of Rivers State and he will make sure the youths are included as he has promised".
