BUHARI AND OBASANJO TENURES IN NIGERIA MORE CORRUPT THAN JONATHAN’S – TRANSPARENCY INTERNATIONAL

According to Transparency International data from 1979 till date, Both General Buhari and Former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s tenure were more corrupt than President Goodluck Jonathan’s tenure.

The data also showed that GEJ period has the best corruption perception index since 1979. This is in complete contrast to what the opposition including Obasanjo, has been saying in the media about corruption during the last 5 years.

Especially, Obasanjo has been strutting around praising himself as anti-corruption hero; well, the organization he helped found has called him a liar.

Shockingly, according to the TI data, Obasanjo’s first tenure had the worst corruption during the 35 year period.

Here is a graph showing the corruption perception index for the 35 year period
The TI corruption perception index is a rating of countries from 1 to 100 showing their corruption scale.

A rating of 1 is the worst and and rating of 100 means a country is completely free of corruption. 50 is the pass mark and any country below 50 is considered a corrupt country.

Onwusanya & Mrakpor Gain Grassroot Appeal, Nwaoboshi Drops Points.

*As PDP State & LGA Chairmen Spits Fire Against Party Members

Okonta Emeka Okelum

As Oshimili South LGA Chapter of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) continues with her grassroot driven ward to ward campaigns, worthy candidates are polling more positive grassroot voice votes and open solidarity.

The party's grassroot train moved through wards 5 & 4 today registering true pulse of the masses.

Today, served an opportunity for the masses to express how great their thoughts on the elections has being made of.

Of the speakers who addressed Ward Five party members, mere mention of Key ANIOMA candidates in the forth-coming general election, unveiled where the people's love and acceptance lies.

For the second time in a row, Oshimili South voters have through voice votes, songs and dance of acceptance demonstrated in advance their love for Rt Hon Peter Onwusanya.

Next in line was Hon Onyemaechi Mrakpor, the party's flag bearer for the House of Representative race.

Still scratching and grappling to gain grassroot support was Barr Peter Nwaoboshi.
Asaba Post News Wire gathered views of grassroot voters on the recent development.
Asiekwu Uzodinma, a trader, shared that Barr Nwaoboshi's diminishing grassroot political fortunes is a function of his past unfriendly political high handedness.

An Asaba Alor title holder, who does not want his name on print, reasoned that Barr Nwaoboshi's attitude to the grassroot campaign does not portray him as a victor.

Imagine, yesterday, he did not start the campaign with others at ward seven, today again nobody saw his presence at the commencement of the grassroot rally today at ward five.

I am surprise that a woman can beat a man's stamina at enduring the heats and rigours of a grassroot campaign stress.

See the tireless spirit Hon Onyemaechi Mrakpor has being braving the campaign tensions, where is Nwaoboshi, he queried.

Onyeisi Okonji, community youth leader, suggested reasons Barr Nwaoboshi was completely absent at Wards 7 & 5.

Barr Nwaoboshi knows too well he has wronged Obi Odiaka, over tricks he hauled at the Asaba Red Cap Chief on his son's quest and shot at the councilorship race in the last LGA council polls.

He told us that the steady realization that Barr Peter Nwaoboshi has a love child of a ward 5 mother, a child he abandoned for many years, is one sure reason, he is scared to step his feet in these wards for fear his political opponents might sponsor aggressive confrontation over these matters.

A brave man must face his karma no matter how bad, running away can never save him from the nemesis of his past actions, Onyeisi Okonji reasoned.

As Rt Hon Peter Onwusanya is warming his way into more hardened hearts and trying to lubricate soft landing for PDP candidates whose appeal the masses had dashed, other party leaders are in their speeches making the process an up-hill task for Rt Hon Peter Onwusanya.

What many aggrieved party members and opinion shapers are not finding funny with still remains the undemocratic utterances of some party leaders at campaign grounds.
Who are they threatening, what grassroot leader do they think they can cajor or ridicule, who do they want to kill, whose son do they want to use as weapon bearers, aggrieved party members queried.

Some aggrieved party members are asking why the state party chairman and Oshimili South LGA party chairman took the zero path to electoral peace and undemocratic hate speeches that have characterized their recent public imagery.

Nwamaka Nwaoji Udeh, a Political Science Student, observed that the name calling and character assassination cum disrespectful description of opposition candidates, Envg Ebelim Maduemezia, Oshimili South party chairman resort to recently does not befit his self acclaimed years of active politicking.

My advise to Envg Maduemezia is to copy the leadership qualities of his religious lord and saviour, even Jesus the Christ, who never returned the Jewish hatred with hatred but exemplified greater charity and service to his enemies, Nwaorji Udeh advised.

For Adimabua Okolie, an applicant, Chief Edwin Uzor, the current PDP acting state chairman, is not an image of political leadership he thinks this age and time needs.

There are just too many war-war incitement in all his public appearances I have taken note of recently, that to a great extent does not make a great leader.

What under the sun will prompt a state leader of a great party like the PDP to so go low as to marsh his political fears with divine concepts, Okolie reasoned.

Chief Edwin Uzor's best description of leadership can be akin to a works man that quarrel with his tools.

What under the sun can tempt a state party chairman to spit venomously Holy Ghost Fire against your party members who in their independent rights felt your choice of a senatorial flag bearer is not fit to represent them.

In the face of countless past political injustice Barr Peter Nwaoboshi hauled at people, is there any rational justification that the state party chairman should in public promise party member hell and brimstone should they vote their conscience.

Practically, there is no democratic basis for the state party chairman to invoke Holy Ghost Fire. Upon those who believe Rt Hon Victor Ochei will make a lot of difference.

We will make you politically irrelevant for eight years in Anioma, should you vote for Accord Party's Delta North Senatorial Candidate, even, Rt Hon Victor Ochei, so threatened Chief Edwin Uzor, Delta State acting PDP State Chairman.

BUHARI VINDICATES THE GOVT on CNN INTERVIEW.

Before you begin to wonder if he was bribed to do this, let me break it down.

Its one thing to remain resolute to, as, and in opposition either as a flag bearer or supporter, but its often difficult for such wielded interests to admit truth in the face of practicable realities.

GMB admited some truths in his recent interview with CNN's Amanpour...

1) That the Govt actually made funds available to the military but the military were not disciplined in dispensing the funds accordingly.

My take on this, is that he just vindicated the incumbent of all accusations for being responsible for Boko Haram.

Knowing fully well that the same military that failed to buy weapons are the ones that would run away abandoning their weapons for the boko haram insurgents to take away; then in return cry out that the boko harams are better armed...

If his observations are anything to go by, the way out is to carefully supervise the proper utilization of the fund allocations at all levels. And i hope part of the solution was not why the Govt decided to take up the purchase of arms via contractors... well, would you blame them?

2)when asked if he has changed from the Buhari of 30 years ago, or is still the same person?

His answer was, He is being judged harshly by those who made such assertions as to what he did then, and this is whether good or bad, nonspecific! as he did them under a military regime and it would be difficult to replicate such under the current multi-party democratic system. (this is a direct caveat from the horses mouth to those who think Buhari has a magic wand to rid our system of corruption. He has just said it, that given the actions he took 30 years ago, the variables and scenarios are no longer the same)

This is possibly why Obj who spent a huge portion of our financial resource on invisible reforms on our power sector can attempt to pacify Buhari through social endorsement.

How enlightened are our parties to project/accommodate healthy democratized leadership opposition-checks within the confines of our constituted rule of law?

Are we aware of how we can make any incumbent sit on their toes even if there are no election derivable in close view? or will the opposition continue in her illusive only-strength of keeping quiet in the face of poor performance and start speaking only 3 weeks to another election?

Now, i ask, how easy would it now be for GMB the acclaimed one-eyed good man to fight corruption in the village of many blind corrupt leaders, working under the same political system he just described? what a half truth personality.

Its easy to make up manifestos via wrong accusations that don't own up to realities letting the crowd of frustrated and angry supporters to eat the bait so as to grant them access to their own share turn of ineptitude; but really difficult to stand up to the complex realities engulfing our current society.

Before we jump at any electoral promises by any party now or in future, Nigerians should learn to ask WHY? and always listen to hear HOW. If they dont contain achievable realities, kindly spare us another 4 years of trial by error.

We need TO change and change to an enlightened society that takes the pain to understand what is real, what is really happening, and not swallow or rely on hearsay and sentimental swigs.

The change we need is a change to a set of people that can see for themselves and be able to tell what is truly wrong and how to correct it irrespective of the party in power. We are Nigerians we are the change cos in the end, we are being led around in circles by the same set of people who will vindicate each other and scorn our stupidity.

Fani-Kayode Slams Obasanjo For Accusing Jonathan Of Hidden Agenda

PDP Oshimili South Campaign Goes Grassroot: Knocks & Kudos

*A vote for PDP, is vote for Women & Youth Empowerment... Onwusanya

*Ochei Has Erred Scripturally...Maduemezia

*Onwusanya will preach the Bible...Hon Mrakpo

*PDP, you don't respect elders...Obi Odiaka

*Nwaoboshi failed grassroot popularity test

Okonta Emeka Okelum

As the Oshimili South LGA Chapter of the People's Democratic Party commenced her grassroot ward to ward campaigns, the exercise had registered tons of Kudos, applauds & knocks as shades of opinions differs.

The campaign witnessed quite a good turn out of women, elders and youth groups in active participation.

An opportunity, the party's candidates for the Senate, House of Representative and State House of Assembly seized to go grassroot with their campaigns.

The well planned and packaged event thrilled party faithfuls with pro-party speeches, members' response and side insinuation from Deltans, though the exercise for want of time never gave grassroot people the chance to share deep seated vibrations.

Asaba Post News Wire intelligently sampled grassroot opinions at the event centers, though unanimously.

The Council area party chairman, Evang. Ebielim Maduemezia in his speech strongly emphasized the party's victory at all levels of the forth coming general election.

Though silent about threats from the Nation's chief opposition political party, the APC, the party chieftain was gravely particular about the candidature of Rt Hon Victor Ochei.

According to Evang Maduemezia, Rt Hon Ochei had pledged to the party to support who ever emerged as the party's guber flag bearer.

Ochie's sudden political switch and turn around to contest the senate with Barr Peter Nwaoboshi is scripturally an error, Ochie has rebelled against the party that has given him so much, Isaiah chapter 120 holds his judgement for him, Engv Maduemezia pointed out.

Rt Hon Peter Onwusanya in his address pleaded with the people to go collect their Permanent Voters Card(PVC) and massively vote for the PDP.

A vote for PDP is a vote for an enhanced implementation of grassroot driven women and youth development initiatives.

The party has done well in the past in this council area, your vote for the PDP will add value, increase opportunities and attract more pro-poor amenities and infrastructures, Rt Hon Onwusanya stressed.

Hon Onyemaechi Mrakpor, PDP's candidate for the House of Representatives, in her views praised the sterling qualities of Rt Hon Peter Onwusanya, whose love for his people, she remarked his special.

For your love and commitment to humanity, I am sure soon you will preach for God like I do today, Hon Mrakpor told Rt Hon Onwusanya.

As her in road into the hearts of Asaba voters, Hon Mrakpor laid claims to Asaba daughtership.

Why can't I be an Asaba daughter, a land that has blessed me with a son, daughter and recently wonderful set of triplets, a great legislative career and great family, what else remains to be called a worthy daughter of the land, Hon Mrakpor argues.

At the ward seven rally ground, a response from a traditional red cap chief, Obi Odiaka, almost shattered the arranged plan of engagement.

In an outburst of past political injustice the red cap chief endured from past PDP chairman, who he claimed he helped in his campaigns but today is rubbished remains a political cancer widening everyday.

In his words, he lamented thus, you PDP are youngsters, you do not have respect for elders, how can after all I did for you, today am rubbished, it is so horrible, Obi Odiaka lamented.

In a swift response, Envg Maduemezia sought some quick counter views, which the already charged crowd did not buy into.

One remarkable feature of the grassroot campaign was the people's loud acclaim in support of their most preferred candidates.

From the people's verdict of loud cheers, it was clear that Rt Hon Onwusanya and Hon Mrakpor got the best of the people's voice votes, while Barr Peter Nwaoboshi clearly lost the cheer leaders support.

Feelers from a good number of rally participants, Asaba Post News Wire intelligently spoke to shared that Rt Hon Ochei stands better chance at the polls than Barr Peter Nwaoboshi.

Those who spoke unofficially to Asaba Post News Wire were of the opinion that the event registered the huge turn out because they were present informed that they were coming to meet Rt Hon Peter Onwusanya.

We can't get this number if it were Barr Nwaoboshi who called for this rally, one participant told us.

Update-’Buhari’s A FRAUD’-Umar Abubakar, PhD,’

*He entered the army without any certificate but rose to the rank of Maj-General

*taking salaries,pensions…without merit’–Umar Abubakar, PhD

Buhari is a FRAUD, said Col, Abubarkar Umar, retd, Republic Reporters has learned. According to Umar, he is a fraud. Imagine, ‘he entered the army without any certificate but rose to the rank of Maj-General taking salaries, pensions…without merit’–Umar Abubakar, fumed.

Reacting to APC presidential candidate Mohammadu Buhari and his certificate scandal spreading like wildfire, in a piece titled: “CERTIFICATE SCANDAL: We, Muslims Must Speak Up Now”, he said,

“For two days now, I have thought about everything I held Buhari at high esteemed thinking that he was being victimized by the lucifers in PDP, but I was wrong. I have come to a solid conclusion that he has been lying to us, his ardent supporters.

I am ashamed to say this, but I must say it. I must describe Buhari in 6 words:
“FRAUD-he entered the army without any certificate but rose to the rank of Maj-General taking salaries and pensions which he didn’t merit; called him a coupist-he was the arrowhead in ousting Gowon in 1976 as well as Shagari in 1983.

Continuing he said, “For over a month, Buhari is yet to provide his certificate and remove the shame he has painted on us, his diehard supporters. I mean, how difficult is it for Buhari to instruct WAEC to send a copy of his certificate to INEC, not to Premium Times?

Is this so difficult? He doesn’t need to travel to do this. The time he used in Press Conference is the same opportunity he would tell WAEC to kindly send his certificate to INEC. By so doing, the whole world would know that he is truly a man of integrity and incorruptible.

Adding that, “Organizing a Press Conference with the aim to release a shabbily prepared Statement of Result is not ideal, especially when the CERTIFICATE is there with WAEC.

Or is the Statement of Result more valuable than the CERTIFICATE?

Kaduna (NDR) – This certificate scandal of Maj-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari has really opened the eyes of many. Initially, some of us in the north thought that Goodluck Jonathan in his desperate move to remain in power beyond 2015 wants to use this certificate issue to shut out our champion, Buhari.

But from every indication, the opposite is the case. It’s an understatement to say that I’m ashamed of being a Muslim and be supporting Buhari. Islam is not about lies and evil. Islam is a true religion based on peace and unity.

For over a month, Buhari is yet to provide his certificate and remove the shame he has painted on us, his diehard supporters. I mean, how difficult is it for Buhari to instruct WAEC to send a copy of his certificate to INEC, not to Premium Times? Is this so difficult? He doesn’t need to travel to do this.

3. LOOTER – I now believe the $2 billion in midland bank Fela sang about.
4. BIGOT – He jailed politicians that are not from his ethnic group or how could one explain why Shagari wasn’t jailed but Ekwueme was. He feels so proud that he executed 76% of PTF projects in the north, neglecting even our Muslim brothers and sisters in the Southwest.
5. LIAR – He maintains that Abacha didn’t steal just because he followed Abacha and looted Nigeria dry. He claims to have N1m in his bank account, yet his children are in the UK schooling where millions of naira are paid as Tuition fees.
6. FORGER – this one is causing me depression. I can’t believe that Buhari has no single certificate, instead of him to open up, he went and forged one.

We have no option than to stick with Jonathan till 2019.

Buhari has messed us up walahi!

Obasanjo’s Allegations Against Jonathan Unsavory,‎ George Kashamu

Two Chieftains of the PDP on Sunday in Lagos described Saturday’s statement by former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s against President Goodluck Jonathan as unsavory.

Obasanjo had in reaction to the postponement of the Feb. 14 polls, alleged that it was done to further the interest of President Goodluck Jonathan.

Chief Olabode George. a former Deputy National Chairman of the PDP and Prince Buruji Kashamuu, Chairman, Organisation and Mobilisation Committee of the PDP South West, condemned the statement.

Addressing separate press conferences in Lagos, the PDP chieftains expressed dismay over Obasanjo’s verbal attacks on the president.

Bode George, who called for caution, said “ it is unsavory and unjust to compare Jonathan to Laurent Gbagbo.

“Baba has served his own term, he has played his roles. I don’t want to conclude that his life would end up like Saul in the Bible.

” I will also want to call on our Obas to talk to Baba that he should remain at that pinnacle of respect because it is becoming too personal. No human being is perfect.”
‎On the postponement of the general elections, George faulted the former president’s position.

“If Baba had attended the Council of state meeting in Abuja, he would have understood why the elections were postponed.”

On his part, Kashamu called for the immediate investigation and arrest of Obasanjo for unguarded statements.

Buruji accused the former president of making unguarded utterances capable of heating up the polity.

He said Nigerians should not be deceived by the former president’s antics.

“Let us not be deceived. As well-intentioned as Chief Obasanjo’s homily may seem, it is all lies. It is an open show of his manipulative skills and his well-known egoistic craving for power and relevance” he said.

“I urge Nigerians to be wise and conduct their independent investigations on claims by politicians” he added.
