On his own path, Hon Izuka Okolo, maintained that there is great need for a political road map for Oshimili South   LGA, so that there will be some geometric political  progressive growth of public office holders, who served or represented the council area.

One of the highlights of the meeting was one minute silence observed for two departed party icon and leader, Mr C. C Kpalobi and Ogbueshi Nash Izediuno Okonkwo.

Female Genital Mutilation: Not Just Inhuman, It's Ungodly - Omu Anioma

... Decorated Zero FGM Ambassador
By: Patrick Ochei

The Omu Anioma and advocate of proper womanhood cum value oriented child upbringing, HRM Obi Dr. Martha Dunkwu has said that Female Genital Mutilation, also known as Female Genital Cutting is not only inhuman to the girl child but ungodly.

She made this assertion on Tuesday 6th February, 2018, while being decorated as the Zero FGM Ambassador of the year by the International Centre for Women Empowerment and Child Development, in their campaign for Zero FGM to mark the 10th anniversary of the Centre.

The Omu who declared her total support to the eradication of Female Genital Mutilation, said she would do everything possible to see to its barest reduction if not erased totally.

"Female Genital Mutilation is not only inhuman, it is ungodly. You have my support on this fight. I commend your effort. We must treat women with love and care. Our community leaders and men of all cadres must show responsibility towards eradicating this inhuman cultural practice", she affirmed.

Speaking further, she maintained that man was not enough on his own and God had to create woman as a help mate to him. "For this reason, man must avoid anything that would inflict an everlasting pain on the woman. FGM brings untold pains, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Women must also help themselves in this regard and don't dwell on sustaining a cultural practice that disfigures and destroys them. The era of women oppressing women must stop. I am here to advocate for the advancement of humanity; and together we must advocate for the reduction of FGM to the barest minimum, if not totally eradicated", Omu expressed.

Earlier, the Director of Programme, International Centre for Women Empowerment and Child Development and leader of the delegation, Barr. Rachael Obodo-Obunseh had commended the Omu on the advocacy role she has been playing on issues of women, humanity and culture. She hinted the Omu on their purpose for coming, which included the marking of the 2018 Female Genital Mutilation that coincided with the Centre's 10th Anniversary Celebration.

Obunseh stated that their 2018 theme is "Zero Tolerance to FGM", which was why the organization decided to honour the Omu Anioma with the Zero FGM Ambassador for her advocacy role on Modern Cultural Practices, Girl Child Education, Value Orientation, Decent Human Life and Community Growth and Development.

However, the Medical Doctor in the delegation and past President of the Medical Women Association of Nigeria (MWAN), Delta State Chapter, Dr. Bobola Agbonle took time to lecture on Female Genital Mutilation, its short and long term implications.

She posited that there are no health benefits to FGM, adding that those beliefs held by our forebears that the mutilations keep women constantly clean, produce matrimonial opportunities, increase fertility and avert still birth are all lies.

Agbonle further maintained that instead, the mutilations would cause excessive bleeding, infection, stayed urine in the short term; and in the long term, stitcher pains, HIV/AIDS infection, psychological effect, post-traumatic health disorder, tightening of vagina during sex and child birth, irredeemable loss of sexual appetite and others would occur.

Dr. Agbonle called on Traditional Rulers, lawmakers, press, NGOs and well meaning Nigerians to join hands in eliminating FGM from being practiced in our communities.

Other experts in the delegation were Mr. Norbert Chimah, Mr. Emma Ogbolu, Mr. Ernest Enuneku and Mr. Ifeanyi Anyafulu who is the HOD Skills Acquisition of the International Centre for Women Empowerment and Child Development.

No Land For Cattle Colony In Delta - Okowa

.....Decries FG Inability To Disarm Herdsmen

Delta State, Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has declared that the state does not have land for cattle colonies

The Governor made this declaration today (06/02/18) in Asaba while addressing stakeholders at a meeting involving Herdsmen, farmers, Community leaders and Heads of security agencies.

He decried what he described as the inability of the federal government to disarm  armed herdsmen who perpetuate crimes and other vices and called on the Federal Government to come up with a clear cut policy direction on this issue.

As part of interim measures to address the perennial clash amongst herdsmen, farmers and host communities, Governor Okowa tasked Chairmen of local government councils to set up special task force on security comprising of necessary interest groups within one week.

The Governor expressed concern that often, the cattle are being led by minors.

"Some of those who are also looking after the cows are so young that most times, they are not able to take decisions concerning the cows, as long as they carry arms and ammunitions, there is a major security issues at stake".

He used the occasion to buttress the fact that Delta State has no land for the Federal Government's proposed cattle colonies, disclosing that most Deltans are moving to neighbouring Edo State to farm because of inadequate land in the state.

"In the next one week, we need to have an interventionist committee on security in all the local government areas of the state while we await a definite policy direction from the Federal Government. Chairmen of the local government areas must ensure that names of members of the committee gets to the office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) who is the Chairman of the Central Coordinating Committee and ensure that minutes of their inaugural meetings are also, sent to the SSG," the Governor said, noting that it was wrong for anybody to hide under the guise of herdsmen to perpetuate crime in the state." He said.

He emphasized, "the Nigerian constitution does not allow anyone to graze on somebody's else farm, it does not permit you to forcefully take over someone's house, we can co-exist as a people but, as we co-exist, there must be mutual respect for one another, whoever you are, when you engage in crime, the law takes its course."

While calling for caution and peaceful co-existence among Deltans, Governor Okowa urged the Police and security agencies not to be compromised in ensuring justice for all, asserting that they should not allow the communities to lose confidence in their abilities to check crimes, especially those committed by herdsmen.

The Commissioner of Police, Delta State, Mr Muhammad Mustapha assured Deltans that their security will not be compromised by the Police in ensuring peaceful co-existence in the state.

Those who spoke at the meeting including traditional rulers, farmers, Myetti Allah and Hausa/Fulani representatives commended Governor Okowa for ensuring that the situation has not snowballed into major crisis despite issues of killings, rape of women, armed robberies, among other vices.

Some of those who spoke at the meeting called on the state government to take actions towards stoppage of grazing in the state, noting that the people could survive without beef and its bye-products while others stated that efforts should be geared towards peaceful co-existence in the state.

FACTS: Omo-Agege Is An Enemy Of Urhobo

By- Burutu Anthony O.

The duo of Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege and Chief Great Ogboru who hail from Orogun community in Ughelli North Local Government Area and Abraka in Ethiope East Local Government Area respectively are both on a failed mission. They both are in a collision to perpetuate their greedy and wily antics against Delta APC which they joined in 2016 after referring to the party as Boko Haram party during the 2015 general elections campaign.

Omo-Agege who has been at the forefront of the anti- Urhobo struggle right from his venture into politics in 2002 is now claiming to love the Urhobos more than the bona-fide men who has stood for the Urhobo course.

It is no news that Ovie Omo-Agege has always been unstable and a sellout right from his time as the Secretary to the State Government in 2006. He aided the treacherous doctoring of the Delta state voters register which the PDP used in rigging the 2007 gubernatorial election against an Urhobo son, Chief Great Ogboru who is now frolicking with Omo-Agege thinking that the Senator has his interest of becoming the governor of Delta State.

The desperation and egocentric nature of Ovie Omo-Agege became revealing right from when the court of appeal annulled the April 14, 2007 election that brought Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan into power and ordered for a fresh election to be conducted within 90 days from the date it issued its judgement.

Being a greedy person and for his hatred for the Urhobo general interest, Ovie Omo-Agege who previously contested and failed in the PDP primaries with Uduaghan in 2007, threw himself into the contest again in connivance with the PDP to use him as their emissary to frustrate, divide and thwart the chances of the emergence of an Urhobo man (Great Ogboru) as the governor of Delta State after the Court of Appeal annulled the controversial 2017 gubernatorial election and declared a rerun.

In a desperate effort to achieve the PDP's plots, Ovie Omo-Agege turncoated illicitly to the Republican Party of Nigeria, RPN to wrestle the ticket of their deceased candidate which he forcefully hijacked from Mrs. Nkem Madezia who was supposed to run on the platform being the Deputy to the late Olorogun Felix Azorbo, the RPN candidate who died after the 2007 election.

Omo-Agege contested the re-run election against Great Ogboru of the DPP whom the Urhobo nation has endorsed as their sole candidate and succeeded in perpetuating his evil mandate against the Urhobo people by dividing the votes of the Urhobo nation.

Worthy of note was the appeal by the Urhobo nation to Ovie Omo-Agege, made viable offers for him to step aside for Ogboru. Alas, Ovie Omo-Agege the political business man and a PDP permanent political contractor who derives joy from conniving against Urhobo interest refused all Urhobo entreaties and efforts to make him step down so that to increase the chances of the most favourable Urhobo candidate as of then, (Great Ogboru).

Yes! Ovie Omo-Agege was responsible for the Ogboru's lose and PDP winning the infamous 2010 governorship election rerun in Delta State.

During the 2011 general elections, the ever chameleonic Ovie Omo-Agege after his failed fake bid to run the gubernatorial primary election of the PDP was again instructed by his pay masters to defect to the Action Congress of Nigeria ACN.

Omo- Agege had no second thought but rather swift immediately to the ACN to hijack its platform which provided him the free ticket to contest the gubernatorial election. His intention was not to win the election but rather to use the platform for his greedy negotiation against the interest of the Urhobo, particularly to further divide the urhobo votes.

I could remember vividly the rhetoric speech made by Ovie Omo-Agege in November 5th 2010 when he officially registered with the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN in his own town Orhomuru-Orogun. Speaking during the formal registration ceremony, Omo-Agege played smart on the people again through his deceptive speech which he acted against almost immediately he lose the election to the PDP and his complacent was not hidden for a successful mole mission.

Ovie Omo-Agege while acting the script at his defection pretentiously condemned the PDP, according to him, "today, we depart Egypt (PDP) as the umbrella is torn asunder by strife, conflict, confusion, and disunity. Today we march onward to victory into the land of the progressives with internal democracy, rule of law and cohesion as the watchwords of the new platform - Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN.

We harken to the voice of our people that never again shall a cabal seize the destiny of the state and hold it thralldom. We sweep away bad government, corruption, oppression suffering, incompetence, chicanery and godfatherism".

The deception in the speech was revealed immediately after the election and the PDP candidate was declared winner, Ovie Omo-Agege in his usual unstable and desperate manner who is after his personal interest abandoned the ACN and defected back to PDP to regroup with the same evil cabals he condemned a few months ago.

*How can Omo-Agege claim to be a lover of the urhobo struggle with all these atrocities committed by him against the Urhobo nation?*

It is also on record that the self over ambitious politician whose reason for political prostitution is to satisfy his personal interest is always uncomfortable in any progressive setting that provides him the opportunity to support the growth of others.

Ovie Omo-Agege all through his political ascension has not been able to make or support any of his followers to become great, but he will always cunningly hide on others reputation to gain political relevance.

This explained why he has always starched himself on Great Ogboru, his new found political ally whom he has been betraying in the secret as recently exposed by one of the Delta APC gubernatorial aspirants, Dr. Charles Nwadiani.

Ovie Omo-Agege based on his greedy and unholy antecedents can not be trusted with the ability to attract or effect development in Urhobo land. His only concern and place of interest is his immediate family and his home town, Orhomuru-Orogun. Just like his new ally, he is a tyrant, never want to be under any body but always expects others to be under him.

Ovie Omo-Agege is always associated with leadership tussle like his ally, Great Ogboru. Another reason why he cannot operate comfortably in one political party is his act of insubordination and rascality, coupled with his selfish desire has continued to push him from one political party to another.

He fought all through his two times stay in PDP, departed the ACN after collapsing the party in Delta State, tried to hijack and collapse the National Working Committee of the Labour Party but was resisted by the party's National Chairman; Abdulkardir Abdulsalam who cried out at the plot of the coup against his NWC, accusing the Senator of being the arrowhead of the splinter group in the party who allegedly sponsored some hooligans to attack his leadership of the party. According to the report,

" Thus, this alleged by the leadership of the Labour Party under Abdulkadir Abdulsalam, the protest against the leadership of our party was a smokescreen to enable those behind it execute the agenda of creating a leadership tussle, which in turn provided the lone Senator of the party from Delta State, Ovie Omo-Agege a long sought opportunity to defect to the All Progressives Congress APC".

It is not just Ovie Omo-Agege, but the entire Ageges are known as people working against the Urhobo for their personal interest. In 1999, Justice Omo-Agege, the father of Ovie Omo-Agege, a retired judge of the high court who was then chairman of the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DESIEC), conducted a fraudulent local government election that saw PDP rigged into power in all the 25 local government areas in the state.

It is regrettable to note that Ovie Omo-Agege who received hundreds of millions as constituency allowance as a serving Senator could not install a single visible development in his constituency, instead he resolved at sharing twenty thousand Naira (N20,000) and ten thousand Naira (N10,000) respectively to a few selected individuals. This goes to show how perplex and nepotic Omo-Agege is and his inability to attract development to his constituency.

In 2010, Ovie Omo-Agege's sister who works at the INEC headquarters In Abuja as Director of Political Parties in a flimsy note declared that RPN and ACN were merged to contest the Delta state re-run elections so that to favour his brother against the Urhobo's consent. Investigations revealed that same lady helped the former governor Emmanuel Uduaghan to perfect rigging in the state in many past elections.

Urhobos will not forget so soon the politics that played out during 2014 PDP governorship primaries. The Urhobo Progress Union, UPU which is the umbrella body of the all Urhobos after diligently screening all Urhobo governorship aspirants, settled for Chief David Edevie as their sole Governorship aspirant for PDP.

Guess who was used against Chief Edevbe and the Urhobos? Your guess is as good as mine. Omo-Agege refused to step down for the Urhobo anointed aspirant as instructed by the UPU. Edevbe lost the PDP primary election to governor Ifeanyi Okowa of the Anioma nation. Omo-Agege again left the PDP after thwarting the chance of the Urhobo.

Yes, I count it as best chance because, two Urhobos namely, Olorogun O'tega Emerhor, OON and Chief Great Ogboru emerged as candidates of the All Progressives Congress APC and the Labour Party respectively. Had Omo-Agege not stopped Chief Edevbe in PDP, it would have been a work over in favour of the Urhobos in 2015.

Omo-Agege never won the Delta central senatorial election at the ballot, his father influenced Justice H. A. Barka to deliver the judgement in the appellate court sitting in Benin, Edo state in his favour. Omo-Agege's father was able to influence Judge Bakar, because he has once saved the said judge from being sacked in the time past.

Omo-Agege who promised to put the issues of Urhobo nation on the front burner in the National Assembly just after the influential Appeal Court judgement has abandoned other Urhobo communities and lay total focus in his Orogun community, channelling all important projects from the Niger Basin Development Authority where his stooge is serving as the Executive Director, Engineering to Orogun.

He recently raised a bill to site a federal polytechnic in his immediate community Orogun. The questions now are, is Ovie Omo-Agege representing only his Orogun people or the entire Urhobos in the senate?

Is this the love Omo-Agege claimed to have for the Urhobo nation? Why is it that Projects that are supposed to be distributed across various communities in Urhobo land are exclusively been sited in one man's community who claims to love the entire Urhobo nation more than others? The answer to these questions clearly defined who Ovie Omo-Agege is.

As the preparation for the 2019 general elections hits top gear, Ovie Omo-Agege has started his shoddy antics and pranks again, and this time not alone but has succeeded in hypnotizing Great Ogboru who is unknowingly being used for horse trading by Omo-Agege for his selfish 2023 guber ambition.

Omo-Agege in conjunction with Ogboru who defected to the APC few months ago have unconstitutionally and subsequently called for a meetings of all APC local government chairmen, induced them with bribe while requesting to be endorsed as the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, and in subsequent manner, rushed to the media to issue press statements as regards to his over ambitious desire and temperament for leadership tussle.

Where in any state chapter of the APC has a defected senator become the leader of the party? On what premises and authority has Ovie Omo-Agege calling for these series of unholy gathering of gullible supporters to perpetuate injustice?

Is Omo-Agege now the Delta state chairman of APC that he can now call meeting of party executives at personal will? Why will omo-Agege, Ogboru and their co-travelers not give peace a chance in Delta APC? This and so many more pertinent questions are begging for answers.

Let me remind Omo-Agege and Ogboru that before their admission into this party that they once refused to merge with at the formation stage in 2014 because they term it Boko-Haram party, the party had structures which still exist till date and the right thing is to align with the structures and stop playing hanky panky to distract effective administration of the party.

I wish to remind Ogboru and Omo-Agege that APC is not a mushroom party where candidates are been endorsed without primaries, and that they have no moral or legal justification to call for or bribe party officials for endorsement.

Delta APC shall conduct a free, fair and credible primaries to choose her candidates at all levels including the Delta Central senatorial post.

Ovie Omo-Agege and Ogboru should allow peace to reign in Delta APC or better still leave the party for the original founders or join the third force of ex-president Obasanjo or APGA that they have long planted some of their people to hold sway for them in case their inordinate plots fails in APC.

THE URHOBOS ARE TOO POOR TO VIE FOR GOVERNORSHIP OF DELTA STATE

---- ACCORDING TO FOREMOST LEADER OF ALL PROGRESSIVE CONGRESS IN  DELTA STATE.

A good leader
endeavours to marshal  his plans and actions not in disregard of mainstream sentiments of his people  but in sync with them.  That is the best way to earn and sustain enduring  leadership. Chief James Ibori  was able to steal  the support of the mass of deltans during his political trial when the then president wanted him disgraced and humiliated out of office.

But the people elected to rally round and gave him all the support that provided him victory in the court of public domain.  In spite of the clear facts for which he was haunted, the spin from the public then  was that he was being  harassed and persecuted because of his clamour and championship of resource control .

Resource control is a sentiment deeply rooted in the consciousness of the people of Niger Delta.  But when Ibori misread his popularity by assuming that he had  absolute grip over his people by ignoring their sentiments and imposing a successor on the state, the reactions that greeted his presumptuous decision and the  consequences that trailed it were awesome and too fiery  to put off.

Thus Ibori descended from his hero status even among his admirers to a villain especially amongst his ethnic nationals.  An infamy that is still looming like a dark cloud over him.For those of us who saw through the opportunistic gimmickery of James Ibori very early and who  distanced  ourselves from his charade,  we were vindicated and  not surprised at his eventual betrayal of the slew of people  who reposed  trust in him.

If  Ibori is fortunate to have a second opportunity to play leadership role in the same set of circumstance as the one that landed him in opprobrium among his kinsmen, he would rather take a  decision that encapsulate  and protect his people's sentiments. James Ibori having failed the leadership test should not ordinarily be expected to  wish anyone success to outshine himself.

The more people failing this leadership test, the easier it is for those in that category to find excuses for their shameful conducts. This should not be misconstrued that the Urhobos are laying exclusive claim to the governance of the state.Rather the Urhobos believe that a multi ethnic state  like delta  state should be governed by the best person irrespective of his region of origin.

But we are particularly insistent that our zone being the forte of All Progressive Congress and having suffered more indignities for our sustained opposition  should enjoy the privilege of providing a government that will  kick start the new paradigms in governance of the state and
provide good mentorship across the state for those to be elected to govern the state as we progress in the democratic process different from the characters now clamouring to lead the state who are not different from the discredited PDP family from where they migrated to APC.

They must be weaned of their indignities before we entrust our governance to any of them otherwise we find ourselves labouring for change in vain.

So those  who are now  carried away by their position and feeling that they can ascend more fame by trampling on the sentiments of their people are poor students of history. In the political calculus of the state as it is presently, some people are courting dire consequences by their posturing and utterances.

A leader was quoted as taunting some eggheads from the central senatorial district who visited him that the central senatorial district should kill their ambition to rule the state because the zone does not have an Elumelu, a Kachukwu, an Okowa, Emefile, and an Ovia.Though  non of the persons who he addressed directly admonished him for his egregious insult on our people,  but their grumbling and murmuring which are  going viral already is very telling of the fate awaiting this vain leader.

Of the variables responsible for electoral victory money is not the dominant factor but the least. While it is true that delta north has the advantage of deep pocket personalities, there are  other vital  areas where delta central best north in comparative advantages.

If All Progressive Congress is sincerely desirous of winning delta state in the light of her  sing-song that votes do count, for now,  delta central remain their best choice to start the gambit. To do otherwise is to unwittingly espouse the playboook of  the Peoples Democratic party and deny our great party victory in the 2019 election. It is not ideology that pulled the mass of delta central people from Peoples Democratic party to other parties where they have been given the PDP a suffocating fight since they took the challenge of pushing PDP from government of the state.

It is passion nurtured by sentiments  and not necessarily any ideology that was the traction.  I can assure any one that if this door is also shut against those of us in All Progressive Congress,  our people  might be constrained  to eat their vomit and embrace the villain of yesterday and abandon us  for also failing them in their deepest sentiment which they have  nurtured and laboured for over the years.

We shouldn't loose sight of the fact , as it were,  that  injuries heal with time and in the context of the avoidable scenario that is being orchestrated by some leaders in collaboration with opponents of the party, we should be guided, otherwise our loss in terms of support will be PDP',s  gain.

We therefore call on the national leaders of party  to be very circumspect on this crucial decision. We also  appeal to  the party to assist us win the governorship election by doing what is right especially in the choice of the easiest candidate to market to the electorate . 2019 is  the year earmarked for ALL PROGRESSIVE CONGRESS to take over delta state.

I remain,

Prince Christopher Akpojotor Agaga.

Obasanjo: Following Good Intentions With Bad Actions

Without doubt, Dr. Olusegun Obasanjo (OBJ) is an important witness to the Nigerian history. He is also known to often speak his mind, whether good or bad. But ignoring him is at one’s own peril. That is why the controversy trailing his recent open letter to President Muhammadu Buhari may never subside.

To start, Obasanjo has good intentions in declaring that things are not going well in Nigeria, and that there is need for real change. In short, the letter is similar to the one he wrote to the erstwhile sitting president, Goodluck Jonathan, which was then hailed by those of us in the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Even Buhari himself commended Obasanjo at the time, saying that, “No right-thinking Nigerian will choose to ignore the appalling descent to anarchy that Nigeria” was experiencing under Jonathan. Hence those now criticising Obasanjo’s admonition to Buhari need to have a serious rethink.

To continue, the Abeokuta born ex-president was damn forthright in inferring that Muhammadu Buhari might have saved Nigeria by being able to dislodge the corrupt empire under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Obasanjo was equally very candid in his remark that Buhari has shown a measurable improvement on the war against corruption among other accomplishments. Furthermore, he was objective in stating that President Buhari is performing below expectations overall.

Very tellingly, he is patriotic in insisting that President Buhari is neither in a good state of health nor has the capacity to pilot the affairs of the nation and thus needs to exhaust his tenure and retire with some sense of dignity in 2019.

More relatively, OBJ has good intentions in he mooting the need for a Third Force to rescue Nigeria. To him, the two major political parties, APC and PDP, only differ in name. But Obasanjo’s action on the Third Force might have become a poisoned chalice.

Even if Obasanjo decides to walk away in the event that the movement metamorphoses into a political party, as he alluded to, the other political figures in the movement are likely to stay put, thereby occasioning the emergence of another strong party in Nigeria. That will be a big blow to the country.

In the first instance, although Obasanjo insists that the Third Force will remain as an ordinary movement, its stated objectives clearly mirror that of a political party.

Even if Obasanjo decides to walk away in the event that the movement metamorphoses into a political party, as he alluded to, the other political figures in the movement are likely to stay put, thereby occasioning the emergence of another strong party in Nigeria. That will be a big blow to the country.

A multiplicity of political parties is not good for Nigeria’s turbulent democracy. It only goes to weaken opposition activity. That explains why most political insiders (including the two most reliable barometers of the military opinion: Obasanjo himself and Ibrahim Babangida) have never failed to quip that Nigeria’s history with a weak opposition, had not only contributed to past leadership crisis but also created the opportunities of the military takeover of government.

Accordingly, instead of a new political party, all hands ought to be on deck in strengthening the two major parties, thereby producing strong opposition activity by consequence.

The problem with the two major parties has nothing to do with their ideologies or manifestoes. The problem is an ageless minority in position of leadership of the two parties, whose only raison d’être of being in politics is to engage in corrupt practices. But guess what, the masses are in the majority.

The Third Force, therefore, should emerge and operate as a change agent within the two major parties. Its goal should be to provoke a power shift to the masses, including new breed politicians and the youth, who are not part and parcel of Nigeria’s shameless corrupt oligarchy. Jumping from one party to another does not demonstrate good leadership.

True leaders do not run away in the midst of crisis; they stay to make things better.

In the second place, the gallery at Obasanjo’s launch of the Third Force, aka, Coalition for Nigeria Movement (CNM), might have effortlessly ruptured the balloon of public goodwill that followed OBJ’s salvo to Buhari, which was initially inflated by a cocktail of desires for true change.

With a possible exception of very few individuals, the premier of the Third Force was a confluence of the ageless politicians that combined to ruin Nigeria. Unbelievable!

Be that as it may, Obasanjo’s letter urging President Buhari not to seek re-election in 2019 is commendable. But the Ota farmer must ensure that the emergent change is positive. The desired change starts with the practice of internal party democracy within the two major parties.

True change must embrace a new breed of leaders, particularly the youth, who have the zeal and the competencies to cope with the demands of the 21st century.

Such leaders must not be part of the status quo. Nigeria direly needs leaders with the moral audacity to demonstrate the consequences of bad behaviour, without minding whose ox is gored.

How I Stopped Kingibe, Kyari, Rufai, From Stealing $44m - Former Acting DG Of NIA

In a disclosure made through a brief to the House of Representatives Committee on National Security and Intelligence, the immediate past Acting DG of the National Intelligence Agency has made some shocking revelations.

Immediate past Acting Director-General (D-G) of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Mr Mohammed Dauda, has disclosed that he fought off attempts by Messrs. Babagana Kingibe, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, and his protégé and incumbent D-G of the NIA, Mr. Rufai Abubakar, and Abba Kyari, President Muhammadu Buhari's Chief of Staff, to steal $44million NIA intervention fund.

The disclosure was made in a brief to the House of Representatives Committee on National Security and Intelligence.

In the brief, exclusively obtained by SaharaReporters, Mr. Dauda said he assumed office as Acting D-G on 6 November 2017, following a brief meeting with Mr. Kyari at the Presidential Villa. The Chief of Staff, he said, conveyed the President's directive to him that he should function in acting capacity while waiting for further directives.

On leaving the Presidential Villa, Mr. Dauda said he headed straight to have a meeting with Mr. Arab Yadam, who was D-G in acting capacity but was retiring. The meeting, he said, dwelt on what the retiring Acting D-G did in the seven months during which he ran the agency.

The briefing, said Mr. Dauda, comprised his administrative, operational and technical duties, all of which were highly confidential. Mr. Yadam also gave his successor the picture of the agency's financial position, which included $44million he informed was part of the intervention fund that brought the Ikoyi scandal.

After the briefing, Mr. Yadam introduced Mr. Dauda to Brigadier-General Mohammed Ja'afaru, the Acting Director of Finance and Administration (DFA), who briefed him on the nature of the agency's assignments. Among these are the daily operations of the accounts for both domestic and foreign management.

The Acting DFA also told Mr. Dauda that the $44million in his custody, which was not part of the agency's budgetary allocation, should not be touched because it had become an exhibit in an ongoing case. The purpose of the disclosure, Mr. Dauda said, was for his information.

Not long after Mr. Dauda assumed office, the Presidential Review Panel (PRP), headed by Mr. Kingibe, started its assignment in NIA. The agency provided the members office space, living accommodation, food and other logistics. Aside from Mr. Kingibe, other members include Mr. Albert K. Horsfall, a for D-G of the State Security Service; Mr. Olaniyi Oladeji, Mr. ZY Ibrahim and the current DG, NIA, Mr. Abubakar, who was PRP Secretary.

After the maiden meeting with the panel, said Mr. Dauda, Mr. Kingibe called him to advise that in his own interest, he should cooperate with them fully and avoid being close with the National Security Adviser. Mr. Kingibe also disclosed that they had presidential powers to overrule previous instructions or directives issued by the NSA.

"I was instructed to channel to channel all our activities, contacts, concerns and complaints through the Office of the Chief of Staff only," said Mr. Dauda.

He said the instructions left him in discomfort, as they contradict all the provisions of the agency's instruments. Not wanting to start on a confrontational note, he kept away from the NSA as instructed.

Things, he said, went on smoothly until Messrs. Kingibe and Abubakar kept pressuring him for money. Mr. Dauda said he explained that the agency's dollar account was low because of the difficulty in sourcing dollars from the Central Bank of Nigeria, following the crises that arose from the Ikoyi money.

However, the replied that the $44m in the custody of the Acting DFA belongs to the agency and that the DFA had no power to stop Mr. Dauda from spending the money.

They added that since the crisis had blown over, Mr. Dauda should go and tell the Brigadier-Gene

REMARKS BY HIS EXCELLENCY, MUHAMMADU BUHARI, PRESIDENT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA, ON THE OCCASION OF THE COMMISSIONING OF COMPREHENSIVE SPECIAL SCHOOL, LAFIA, NASARAWA STATE:

REMARKS BY HIS EXCELLENCY, MUHAMMADU BUHARI, PRESIDENT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA, ON THE OCCASION OF THE COMMISSIONING OF COMPREHENSIVE SPECIAL SCHOOL, LAFIA, NASARAWA STATE: TUESDAY, 6TH FEBRUARY, 2018.

Protocols:

I am very pleased to be with you here today in Lafia, the Capital of Nasarawa State. I am, indeed, overwhelmed by the warm reception accorded to me.

2.     I am, however, not surprised by this show of love and enthusiasm because, for me, this is home coming.

3.     People of Nasarawa have always been with the CHANGE movement, since the early days of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) through All Progressives Congress (APC).

4.     In 2011, the people of Nasarawa decided to vote for CHANGE, voted for the CPC in order to have a government for the people, and in 2015 they voted for continuity.

5.     Today, I am obliged to reiterate Governor Al-Makura’s proclamation that, indeed, Nasarawa State is my political home.

6.     Since the inauguration of His Excellency Umar Tanko Al-Makura as the Governor of Nasarawa State in May, 2011; the occasion which I attended personally, I have been following the trend of events in the State and the reports I received are that of execution of many projects.

7.     Accordingly, during my campaign visit to Nasarawa State in 2015, I noticed the transformation within Lafia metropolis.

8.     Earlier this morning, I commissioned an Electronic Library, a Fire Service facility and Township Road. And now, I am here to commission a Special Needs School.

9.     Later today, I will also commission a Model Primary Health Care Centre and Karu International Market. This is the CHANGE people of Nasarawa voted for.

10.   I must add that these projects, I believe, were executed owing largely to the frugality of Governor Al-Makura in the management of the meagre resources at the disposal of the Administration in the State.

11.   Excellencies, distinguished ladies and gentlemen, the Lafia Comprehensive Special School is a demonstration of our collective ambition to uplift the standard of living of all Nigerians through social investment policies.

12.   This school will cater for the deaf, the blind and other physically challenged. Indeed, this is a clear example of our inclusive policy where no child, man or woman will be left behind.

13.   This is a well-thought out initiative to give hope to a key segment of the society that has been ignored and neglected by the previous governments. We must help our disabled to contribute to their development and self-reliance.

14.     Let me use this opportunity to stress that the CHANGE philosophy which precipitated the APC Government will continue to idealize and identify issues that are critical to our socio-economic development with a view to proffering lasting solutions to them.

15.     I want to assure Nigerians that we would intensify our commitment towards the realization of the cardinal objectives of this Administration anchored on securing lives and property, curbing corruption and ensuring economic growth through diversification.

16.     I am also particularly pleased to launch the Pilot Scheme of the Community Health Influencers, Promoters and Services (CHIPS), National Programme here at Kwandare- Lafia Local Government Area and to direct the Federal Ministry of Health to synergize with other States to roll out the programme to enable the less privileged and the rural dwellers to have access to health services.

17.     Considering the proximity of the Nasarawa State to the Federal Capital Territory, Government will site Federal projects that will attract foreign investments to Nigeria, taking into cognizance the daily influx of people to the State from within and outside the country.

18.     In this regard, I want to assure you that all ongoing strategic projects, especially the power transmission sub-stations and roads network would be completed to further enhance the  socio-economic development of Nasarawa State and the north central region.

19.     I also want to assure the people of the north central and indeed all Nigerians, that Federal Government is working day and night to ensure peace and stability returns.

20.     We have deployed additional resources to all affected areas to maintain law and order. The attacks by suspected herdsmen and other bandits will not be tolerated.

21.     I appeal to all Nigerian to refrain from attacks. The security agencies have standing instructions to arrest and prosecute any and all persons found with illegal arms.

22.     I would like to once again express my condolences and sympathies to all the affected victims of these barbaric acts.

23.     Your Excellencies, ladies and gentlemen, let me once again express my appreciation for the overwhelming  show of support and affection which I receive from fellow Nigerians in Nasarawa State.

24.   I urge you all to continue to pray for the success of this Administration and peace in the country.

25.   It is now my pleasure to commission the Comprehensive Special School, Lafia.

26.   Thank you and may God continue to bless Nigeria.

EMERHOR ORTEGA TEAR DELTA APC APART. SO BAD.

It is no longer a news that Delta APC for over two year now have been experiencing one challenges or another.

The whole problems is traceable to Olorugun Ortega who unilaterally want to be controlling the party and its entire excos from his bedroom.

He summon LGA and Ward Chairmen at will without due process in line with party constitution and No meaningful discussion with them rather dish out cash and urge them to be loyal to his destructive leadership. Is not only by money.

Though,i am aware that he single handed recruited all the party excos but i expected Jones and the entire excos to be reasonable enough in their dealings.

Ortega now detect every thing for them.People are suspended or remove from their position without due process in line with our constitution. How can the party stand and win?

We got tired of all these and we are calling on Jones and his excos to rise up to their responsibility and but the party to winning shape.

Ortega is just former candidate of the party like any other person,if he have a new aspirations, he will follow it like any other aspirants of the party.

I foresee a situation where parallel excos will soon emerged from various units to state level if care is not taken. A stitch in time save Nile.

Hon Odikpo Eleazar.

ANIOMA PEOPLE MUST SAY NO TO CHANGE

The good people of Anioma must ensure that the great deception sold to 15millon Nigerians in the toga of change should not be bought.

We must resist every nebulous Greek campaign promises that the APC used against the people of Nigeria.  Anioma People must remember that we were sold to lies and if we give heed to these wolves in sheep clothing to truncate our collective pains and gains we built since the administration of our Smart Governor, Dr Ifanyi Arthur okowa.

The truth be told we must as a matter of morality resist any attempt to manipulate and intimidate, us to give our state to the APC.

Anioma people should remember that never in our history we have witnessed such economic down turn, but the pangs of recession was not felt that much due to the prudent management of our scarce resource, by our Smart Governor.

NO DEGREE OF PROPAGANDA CAN STOP SENATOR PETER NWAOBOSHI, HE HAS DONE WELL, HE WILL RETURN BY 2019 - Says Odubu.

By Cyprian C. Odifili

The Coordinator of SPON Youth Movement, Amb. Oz Odubu has said that no degree of propaganda can stop a second Senate sojourn of the lawmaker representing Delta North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi.

Mr. Odubu made the disclosure why addressing and intimating some Anioma Citizens at the Novena University community, in Amai Kingdom on 6th February, 2018, on the activities of SPON, the need for Anioma students/youths to give him the necessary support and as well disregard the Senator's deluded criticisms.

Stressing that Senator Nwaoboshi is performing more than expected at the RED CHAMBERS, so it is expected of every well meaning Anioma indigenes/ his constituents to give him the required support, to enable him do more and as well, disregard his critics, because their criticisms are founded mainly on propaganda, characterised with delusion and laced with malice.

All in their scandalous attempts to divert the attention of Delta Northerners, especially the students/youths from the commendable achievements of the Most Distinguished Senator Peter Nwaoboshi.

Mr. Odubu said that Senator Peter Nwaoboshi primary duty is lawmaking, but because of his level of patriotism, he has continued to utilise his NDDC/Niger Delta Senate led committee in attracting massive NDDC projects to Delta North, even as an opposition Senator, which are evidence of his doggedness, political elegance, his administrative dexterity and charisma.

Furthermore, he voiced his dissatisfaction at the attitudes of some deluded Anioma political analysts, political jobbers, touts who has resolved on blackmailing and saying untrue things about the Senator because of their selfish reasons.

Some, in the guise of working for some aspirants, discrediting our Most and Reverend Distinguished Senator Peter Nwaoboshi who has suddenly become a centre of attraction in the Red Chambers.

Speaking further, Mr. Odubu stated that It's high time some Anioma communities starts summoning some of their children involved in these acts of disrespect against Anioma first Citizens.

"Because judging from Senator Nwaoboshi continues representation of the Senate in diverse National assignment and with the recent one at the House of Common, United Kingdom, you will believe that Anioma now has a voice that we must protect at all cost in the National Assembly. It's no gain saying, Senator Nwaoboshi is actually doing well, so he deserve the support of every well meaning youths for continuity, come 2019", Mr. Odubu added.

While eulogising the achievements of Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, he disclosed that the distinguished Senator should be commended for ensuring the inclusion of Anioma students in the NDDC International Scholarship Programme, the inclusion of Ndokwa Youths in the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), his bill to establish a Federal owned Polytechnic in Kwale, his bill for the Amendment of NDDC Act 2000 (which has been passed into law/assented by Mr. President),  about six other bills, he has sponsored/Over ten (10) motions moved.

His #100 million Naira worth mega empowerment held at Asaba, around December, 2016, his over #5 million naira worth empowerment for the disabled, around September, 2017, his #39.2 million naira financial empowerment to about 784 persons across 98 INEC Wards in Delta North, on November 1st, 2017, aimed at boosting microcredit businesses, his Obi Francis Nwaoboshi Foundation (OFNF), for indigent students, being funded with over #60 million naira annually, totaled about #280 million naira worth of empowerments in about three (3) years of representations. Not forgetting also the housing apartment he built, furnished and donated to Charity.

While feeding questions from some students, Mr. Odubu further informed them that Senator Nwaoboshi through his Senate led committee on NDDC/Niger Delta Affairs, he has utilised in attracting road construction projects to Delta North, with over 16 roads completed.

Three  (3) Federal skill acquisition centres has been built across the District. Some youths have been trained through the Federal Amnesty Programme he fought to ensure Ndokwa Youths benefits from.

Meanwhile, a student who pleaded anonymity stated in quote; "Bros, what you're saying in the aspect of propagandas to tarnish the good works of the Senator is true. If you can remember after that Delta North PDP meeting that was held in Kwale, the next day, a publication was trending online that Senator Nwaoboshi was stoned and chased out by angry youths at Kwale, which is not true. I was privileged to be in the place were the story was forged.

Bros, you see some of those boys doing those things, some of them are being paid #20 Thousand Naira monthly by one Prince to tarnish the reputation of Senator Nwaoboshi. I was even contacted by my friends to join them, but I refused, I told them the money is too small for my kind of person".

Reacting to the above, the coordinator of SPON Youth Movement, Mr. Oz Odubu stated that the Propaganda being largely circulated by some subjects, especially the Image Makers of Alhaji Nwoko (the mentioned Prince) an aspirant, will be attended to, at the right time.

Because nothing as such happened at Kwale, as they are making the world to believe more so, SPON himself will never rubbish anyone to gain cheap credit like some political aspirants does because as a trained Lawyer, he strongly believes all human has equal rights and everyone antecedents should speak for them.

He said that in that Delta North (PDP) enlarged meeting held in Kwale, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi intimated the general public on his achievements so far, which left many wondering how he managed to achieve such, as an opposition Senator in less than three (3) years.

He further said that Senator Peter Nwaoboshi also disclosed to the people of Delta North at Kwale, that he has attracted another proposed 20 roads construction through his NDDC Senate led committee, which has been approved and will be distributes across the Nine (9) Local Government Area of Delta North.

Conclusively, he urged them to become good Ambassadors of SPON and support him in their own little ways, for the betterment of the entire Delta North Senatorial District.

Stressing that they should be in good faith, for no amount or degree of propaganda will stop Senator Peter Nwaoboshi and Senator Ifeanyi Okowa from continuity, come 2019 general elections.

BLESSING IN DISGUISE

The PDP of Aniocha South LGA today resolved to suspend the Chairman of PDP Ward 2 in LGA, Prince P.C Izedinuor ,who have worked assiduously to see that PDP is revived in the ward in spit of their poor performance haven produced a councillor, chairman, House of Assembly member, House of Representative member and other members of the PDP board without any meaningful development to show for it.

Today the party uses the sons decision in life to judge the father because Prince Izedinuor Rista is a member of the All Progressive Party APC since the PDP have failed in their responsibilities.

While Rister have been working for APC, the father who is the Chairman of the PDP have also been working for the party, PDP without any interference but it was gathered  that an emergency meeting of the PDP executive was summoned today and all the party executives who could not deliver their units at the just concluded local government election were accusing the ward 2 Chairman of failing to deliver the party at their polling units.

This accusation came as a result of tje poor performance of PDP at the local government where the party PDP invested huge state resources to deliver even with all the government mechinaris but the people have further resolved that 'enough is enough'.

In acceptance vwith the foregoing, the Ogwashi-Uku people have resolved to work with Prince Big Big Paul Okwufulueze and Prince Izedinuor Rista as the mandate of the town.

It has also been resolved that Ogwashi-Uku people irrespective of the party must support any any of her person in the forth coming State House of Assembly election. The youths of Ogwashi-Uku haven been in close contact with Prince Izedinuor Rista nominates him for the position of his choice and pleads with to declear his intention.

The elders of Ogwashi-Uku also condemned the unilateral decision of PDP to suspend the ward 2  Chairman who has done far better than many of the party's executive members

The youths on their part see the suspension of the party chairman as an avenue for intimidation and further marginalization of other members of the party who have refused to be stooges and puppets of the self acclaimed party leaders.

Aniocha south must be delivered from the hands of these political hustlers who see politics as the only means of livelihood.

Rista for All, All for Rista.

DELTA APC EXCO, A MISFIT AND DIGRACE TO DEMOCRATIC NORMS.

Written by; Hon. Elvis Ayomanor.
A Chieftain of APC from Sapele.

It is a shame how some leaders have turned this party into a complete mess. Imagine how u people are displaying "money misroad" attitude here in delta APC. U waste your money on  rubbish and frivolities, thus making our party look like a mushroom party.

Everyday u buy those shameless chairmen and secretaries to pass vote of confidence on certain officers, tomorrow u gather the same set of shameless chairmen and secretaries, give them money and ask them to pass a vote of no confidence on the same party officers u just asked them to pass vote of confidence on.

Sometimes I wander how u guys call yourselves politicians, not to talk of being political leaders, our party has turned a party of "agberos" without direction, where u just gather a group of nuisance give them money, and ask them to impeach an Exco member and they rush to impeach him, without recourse to our party constitution.

Tomorrow if any other person calls them together and gives them money to upturn that same decision, they rush to upturn it, then u would come back and call same chairmen and secretaries to over turn that again with bigger amount.

Hahahahaha how shameful. Sometimes I feel so ashamed to be in same party with some of you, but I take solace in the fact that very soon this whole era of inexperience and greedy leadership of moles and cells, would become history.

I understand the fact that the present structure was put together when there were no much good and capable hands around, now we are headed for a better tomorrow by the special grace of God.

My question for some of you Delta APC killers and PDP moles, who call yourselves leaders,

How many times will u guys try this suspension and expulsion trash? U have tried it several times and it's not working, remember u even set up a panel to suspend Chief Engr. Hyacinth Enuha, and members of that panel got the beating of their lives by Engr. Enuha's boys, yet you could not suspend him or do anything about it?

So that experience has not taught you enough lessons? Why are you guys bent on retarding the growth of the party?

Today your pay masters in PDP have asked you to start that same ugly trend again, and u guys have really started, just to make sure APC looses 2019, well I can assure you guys, you are only wasting your time.

As for those shameless Exco members who pass vote of confidence today and pass vote of no confidence tomorrow, just because u have been paid peanuts, u are  a disgrace to your families and a misfit for the positions you occupy.

Well I don't blame you, most of you have not even played active politics in your lives before, you were just handpicked to run a party, without experience
and knowledge of how it works, now all you think about is what your masters taught u, money! money!! money!!!, just collect the money and allow PDP go.

Hmmm, anyways you can enjoy the money while your tenure lasts, after all, the money is from your PDP slave masters.

Finally, since the new style and trend is now to pride yourselves in how many times you used those shameless Exco members to upturn and overturn decisions unconstitutionally, no wahala, I will help u guys to be transmitting your shamelessness to other social media for outsiders to be reading and following your activities in the party, for them to know who you people really are,  especially for your PDP paymasters, so they would know you are actually good at what they commissioned u to do.

From today, all votes of confidence and no confidence and their sponsors will now be well spread on other social media, for the world to know your works.

And very soon the series of petitions tobthe national leadership of the party and the presidency, will start again, like it rained in 2015, that led to the fact finding panel coming to Delta.

And those leaders who pride themselves in destroying Delta APC bcos of their allegiance  to Atiku, you will soon start receiving the heat, because u would be exposed by petitions to the presidency.

As for u working for  Kwakwanso, we have nothing against u, we are all in same party, but we stand with Buhari, keep playing ur politics of destroying the party, the presidential primaries will take care of that.

As for Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, the Coordinator of Buhari Campaign Organisation here in the South South region, Chief Great Ogboru (The People's General) and the entire Light of APC Delta State, who came to join our party, and stand to promote the reelection bid of our great president, Mohammadu Buhari, I want to appreciate your commitment to the party and your determination to see APC win elections and President Buhari re-emerges our president in 2019. May God guide, guard and blessing you all, IJN.

We the true progressives in Delta stand with you as you stand with our Great President, Mohammadu Buhari. And we pray God will grant us victory in 2019.

Long live APC Delta!
Long Live PMB!!
Long Live The Federal Republic of Nigeria!!!
APCccccccccc, Changeeeeee.
