WORKERS CHARGED TO PARTNER GOVT. IN ACHIEVING SET GOALS

The vision of the present administration in Ogun State to utilize its agricultural resources for food security, employment generation and industrialisation will at best be a pipe dream if workers of the Ministry of Agriculture in the State fail to contribute their quota as expected.

Commissioner in the Ministry, Mrs. Ronke Sokefun who made this assertion in Abeokuta during the first meeting held with the workers in the New Year, therefore tasked them to roll up their sleeves and partner with government to actualize the vision.

As she puts it, workers remain the engine room and vital organ of executing government policies and programmes, maintaining that no matter how lofty a policy is, it cannot achieve set objectives, if workers who are to implement it did not play their expected roles.

She disclosed that the State Government’s determination to rebuild the State particularly through agricultural revolution remained unwavering and solicited the cooperation and collaboration of all stakeholders towards delivering its electioneering promises.
“Agricultural revolution remains a key priority of this government. It is therefore our responsibility to assist the Governor to deliver on this dream and on his promise to the electorates”, she said.

Earlier, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Engr. Lanre Bisiriyu, enjoined members of staff to make efficient service delivery their watchword as they are commencing a new year.
Bisiriyu explained that this is the only way they could repay the State government which had consistently displayed its welfarist posture through prompt payment of salaries and allowances as well as other packages to make living more abundant for its workers.

Responding on behalf of other workers, Mr. Ibrahim Busi appreciated different gestures so far enjoyed from government and expressed their readiness to work harder in the New Year towards ensuring the achievements of the set goals and objectives of the ministry.
