The Deputy governor of Delta State,
Prof. Amos Utuama (SAN) and his wife, Dr.(Mrs) Nelly Utuama have been honored
with an award of excellence along with other well meaning individuals in
the state by the Catholic Women Organization (CWO) for their numerous
contributions towards the upliftment of mankind in the society.
The President of the Asaba Region of
the Catholic Women Organization, Issele-Uku Dioceses, Mrs Patricia Ideh, while
presenting the award to the awardees including post humors award to the
deserving fallen heroes of the church in Asaba, said that CWO deemed it
necessary to confer the award on them in order for them to sustain their kind
gesture to humanity.
Mrs Ideh said that the present
executive member of CWO since it came on board in 2011 had continued to ensure
that youths, especially the orphans and vulnerable children as well as
encouragement of model christian women by promoting love, hard work and unity
among others.
Speaking shortly after receiving a
post humors award on behalf of his late wife, Mrs. Patricia Mowah, the Director
of Information, Sir Austin Mowah stated that the award showed that his wife had
left an enduring legacies worth of emulation.
Sir Mowah maintained that although
his wife had gone, her children, the entire Mowah family and indeed all she
left behind would continue to take solace on the fact that she lived a
fulfilled life while on earth.
Earlier in a sermon titled ‘’ God is
with us’’ ,the Parish Priest, Rev Fr Emmanuel Ogbolu enjoined Christians to
rejoice at all time irrespective of any challenge confronting them, just as he
advised the awardees to sustain the exemplary qualities for which they were honored.
