A CRUSADER ON A MISSION

Akamesike.

When shall it end? I was in Nigeria and Anioma  precisely for good 5 weeks. In this period,I took my time to interact with the leaders and the led including the misled. I mingled with the so called down trodden, asked questions and got answers. In the course of my mission ,I also realised that 2 events or rather findings are not very clear to me.

I received mixed reports on the performances of our distinguished Senator Peter Nwaoboshi. I learnt and observed and equally admitted that the man is trying his best as our senator. Yes,agreed that he may have made some errors,he cannot be said to be a total failure outside the can of fraudulent scandals in his cupboard.

Again, I heard and saw how our people are clamouring for Hon  Ned Nwoko to replace Senator Nwaoboshi.I was privileged to hear some very important and well  placed politicians supporting Ned Nwoko over Nwaoboshi. Surprisingly, some of these individuals calling for Nwoko to replace Nwaoboshi were part of those who agreed that Nwaoboshi is not doing badly.

Now,I am confused but that has prompted me the more in this journey. A journey of a mission to find out why almost the entire Anioma people are calling for Hon Ned Nwoko to replace Senator Peter Nwaoboshi even after admitting that the man called 'Oracle' is doing fairly well.

What could just be the reason?

I have met with these two wonderful illustrious sons of our land, interviewed them and I must admit that I was wowed by the extreme passion showed by the two concerning Anioma.
Senator Nwaoboshi is a figure and what I call a politicians politician. No doubt, he understands the game very well and knows how to play it. The only shortcomings I have found in him is his power of social interaction. I will say that it is in that aspect that Hon Ned Nwoko soars above him. Nwaoboshi is not a good socialist but more of a raw politician. It should be noted that since his time in the Senate, the only people he has been seen to be interacting with are same persons, Bukola Saraki and Dino Melaye. Senator Nwaoboshi has not been able to break barriers and mix with other politicians apart from these two mentioned men. As our Senator in this digital era, Senator Nwaoboshi has never been seen with anybody in the presidency and it is said that he has no cordial relationship with any member of the executive. Outside this, one must admit that he is doing well enough for Anioma considering that Ndokwa nation where he has concentrated so well on is part of Anioma.
However, what baffles a newcomer to Anioma politics is why in spite of the fairly good records the man has, there is still this big call among our people for him to be replaced by Hon Nwoko.

Ned Nwoko has proven himself to be an all comer but then, there is still this big load that he is carrying. Some of the people I spoke with on my visit to Nigeria still refer to him as a seasonal politician. They allege that he is only appearing on the political scene whenever he is seeking for political office and soon after the election, it is argued that he returns to Abuja his base. One thing though, that those who are making this insinuation about Ned Nwoko is that they have not come to realise that unlike thousands of politicians from Anioma, Hon Ned Nwoko is not a professional politician that lives on politics. He has his businesses to run and does not belong to the "anwulanwu" politicians who live their lives on the corridor of seat of power seeking for contracts to survive on. He is a silent bulldozer who has never failed to associate himself with his home state politics, the only thing about him is that he is not the type that will be running after political office holders in order to feed.

While we are looking at these two sons of our land as possible Senator for our land come 2019, we must not forget that there are quite a few of others showing interest in that same position but from other political parties. How serious are these other aspirants considering that they have no political bearing in the land is another issue.
Narrowing the race down to Senator Nwaoboshi and Hon Nwoko, one must admit that it is going to be an interesting event as it is already believed that whoever wins the primaries will surely win the real election . The only snag in this whole calculation is when the primaries is considered not to be free and one of the aspirants decides to run under another party.

In truth, Senator Nwaoboshi is doing good but the question remains, why then is the majority of our people calling on Ned Nwoko to replace him.

I am still in this journey to find out where Nwaoboshi is getting it wrong that people want him replaced.
