...AS SENATOR IGHOYOTA AMORI STANDS OUT AS FRONTLINE SENATORIAL HOPEFUL.

By Barrister Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe  (EA Communications).

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) family in Delta Central Senatorial District compromising eight local government areas; resolved on Friday 22nd February, 2018 to commence massive awareness campaign to sensitize eligible voters in the district on the need to fully participate and exercise their constitutional responsibilities by voting during 2019 general elections in the state.

The meeting also re-confirm the SMART GOVERNOR of Delta State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa as the sole 2019 governorship candidate of the senatorial district with firm promise to politically dislodge any governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

A vote of confidence was passed on Gov Okowa for his proactive leadership and good governance initiatives especially his milestone achievements in infrastructure development, Health, human capital development, agriculture, peace and security; transparency, accountability and equal spread of political appointments and sustainable projects.

Delta Central PDP Chairman, Chief A.P Fovie used the occasion to thank party faithfuls, leaders and supporters for their commitment and hard work which gave the party and its candidates landslide victory in the just concluded local council elections in the state.

He commended the efforts of the state party Chairman, Olorogun Kingsley Esiso and members of the party exco for leading the party to victory.

Fovie further disclosed that there were reports of discontent among some members of the party who felt aggrieved over issues of personal or group political interests during primaries; adding that a reconciliation committee has been put in place to urgently look into such grievances and reconcile the parties immediately. Father of Government and Professor of Political Science, Prof Sam Oyovbaire was named Chairman of the committee.

"We are one united political family, we also have the capacity and will-power to settle our differences with ease and in line with the principles of equity and good conscience. Our party leader, Gov Okowa is a man of tact and very firm in dispensing justice within the political family to the satisfaction of parties from time to time. He is a of uncommon wisdom and divinely inspired.

"His Excellency the Governor has directed that the unity and onessness we enjoy must be sustained and strengthened so as to remain on top in the politics and governance of the state.

"We have done well as a party and it is expected that we continue to support the governor and the state government to consistently deliver dividends of democracy to our people," Fovie said.

State Party Chairman, Olorogun  (Barrister) Kingsley Esiso fondly referred to as "Capacity Chairman" stressed the need for party faithfuls and supporters in Delta Central Senatorial District to convert more eligible voters to the PDP by applying the door-door, street-to-street electioneering awareness strategy beginning from now unto the election, different from traditional political campaigns.

"It's obvious that the APC in Delta State is not on ground, they have no political strength, the APC is gasping for oxygen and we much not allow them access to it. This we must do by doubling efforts in strategic political mobilization, person to person empowerment, group and communities empowerment initiatives to effectively compliment the monumental achievements of His Excellency, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa.

"Delta Central PDP must rise to the occasion and work tirelessly for our great party, our sole governorship candidate, Senator Dr Okowa, other party candidates during the forthcoming general elections slater for February 2019. We must intensify mobilization from this day forward.

"I am overwhelmed and flabbergasted over the landslide victory recorded in the 2018 council elections. We must triple our efforts so as to disgrace and dislodge candidates of the opposition especially candidates of the fragile APC that has brought untold hardship, extreme poverty, high rate of inflation, increased electricity tariff, high exchange rate of N380 to $1, fuel price hike from N97 to between N145 to N200 per litre, et al.

"It is our duty and collective civic responsibility to mobilize Deltans to cripple APC and its candidates during the 2019 general elections. The many sins of APC are glaring which must form part of our campaigns even as we sell the expanded version of the SMART AGENDA to the good people of Delta State," Esiso added.

Delta Central Senatorial frontline contender who have been receiving inestimable endorsements, Senator (Chief) Ighoyota Amori told newsmen after the meeting that Gov Okowa is a man after his heart, describing him as a responsible, proactive and workaholic leader who has done the needful and still doing the needful to raise a new generation of entrepreneurs.

"The positive socioeconomic gains recorded so far through the various Youth Empowerment Programmes especially the Youth Agriculture and Skills Training Entrepreneurship programmes  (YAGEP AND STEEP), this administration has impacted thousands of lives of our people and just last week another batch of the programmes commenced. Kudos to His Excellency the Governor.

"We never had it this good. And in terms of infrastructure development, direct and indirect jobs and wealth creation, Gov Okowa's achievements speaks volume; his good governance initiatives cannot be faulted even by the devil. It's obvious and glaring. This is why Deltans have resolved to re-elect him in 2019.

"PDP Delta will present one candidate and no aspirants for the governorship race. He is our sole candidate. We are not like the APC with multiple factions, multiple leaders and multiple objectives.

"Deltans cannot afford to trust the APC at a time our nation's economy is in comatose without signs of recovery. Our foreign debts have increased, the Naira is weak and inflation is on the rise per second, per minute.

"Security has eluded us throughout the country but in Delta State, Gov Okowa has been able to strategically worked with security agencies hence we enjoy peace, though at a huge cost by the state government. We owe our consciences the need to vote Okowa Again in 2019, to enable him continue with His good governance initiatives.

"Delta Central has produced governor on two tenure basis, Delta South did same and it is only fair and just that Delta North should do two tenure of eight years via the Okowa administration.

"Urhobo governor will emerge on May 29, 2023. Our people are already aware that APC party is a scam and will never be cajoled into 2019 Urhobo governorship project. It's fake, its wicked, its selfish and dead on arrival," Senator Amori roared.

The meeting was well attended by top party leaders, senior government officials, political appointees and members of the Delta State House of Assembly from the Central axis including, the Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, former Deputy Governor, Prof Utuama, Secretary to Delta State Government, Hon (Barrister) Festus Ovie Agas, Political Aviser to PDP National ChChairman/Delta Central Senatorial hopeful, Senator Ighoyota Amori, Hon Evelyn Oboro representing Okpe/Sapele Federal Constituency at the National Assembly/Delta Central Senatorial aspirant, Hon Evance Ivwurie representing Ethiope East Constituency at DTHA, Hon Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Barrister Mrs Mary Iyasere, Local Government Chairmen, their Vice, Councellors, Chief Mike Adiotomre, Ethiope East PDP leader, Chief Bernard Edewor, Former House of Representatives member, Hon Sunny Emeyese, PDP State Organising Secretary, Chief Sunday Onoriode, EA Communications to His Excellency the Governor of Delta State, Barrister Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe and others.
