ENVIRONMENT MINISTRY COMMENCES FUMIGATION EXERCISE TO CHECK SPREAD OF LASSA FEVER




As part of its proactive measures against the spread of Lassa fever in Delta State, the State Ministry of Environment has commence operation kill the rats through the fumigation and deratilization at Cable and Abraka markets, Asaba, the State Capital.

The State Commissioner for Environment, Barr John Nani stated that the fumigation exercise would extend to other populous strategic markets, dumpsites, General Central Hospital, Okwe and some strategic areas in the State Capital.

He noted that the Ministry started the exercise with sensitization, a process which he said was still on-going, adding that the proactive measure employed by the State Government was in line with State Government Smart Agenda.

Hon. Nani assured Deltans and the business community operating in the State of Dr. Ifeanyi Okowas readiness to create a conducive environment for the enhancement of the growth and development of the State.

He advised all landlords, tenants, traders and the general public to cooperate with Delta State Ministry of Environment.
