Our subject today, Hon. (Barrister) Pat Adankele Ajudua has works that foreshadow her on every good account. As the representative of Oshimili North in the Delta State Legislature, Ajudua, a reckonable lawyer of good standing, is a household name, far beyond the precincts of her immediate political constituency.
Born on April 7, 1962, Ajudua is a product of the Universities of Lagos (1981-1984) and the University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt (1989-1990), among others. She holds a Master’s Degree in Law, and the MBA (Banking and Finance) after her degrees in Philosophy and Law and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIARB).
She is putting finishing touches to her doctorate degree in Law, though, in between the pursuit of this and her other endeavors, she picked other degrees and diploma certificates in Arts and Bible Studies.
Ajudua is a woman of many sterling parts: She is principal partner, Princess Chambers, Asaba, and a major stakeholder in Ubulu-Uku Aluminumi Industry Ltd, Ubulu-Uku; Umejei Micro-Finance Bank, Ibusa, and Ngegwe Micro-Finance Bank, Eleme, Rivers State.
As proof of her multi-dimensional reach, she has held a legion of professional and other positions, including Financial Secretary, NBA, Port-Harcourt (2003); Chairman, Umejei Micro-Finance Bank, Ibusa, and Ngegwe Micro-Finance Bank, Eleme, Rivers State (1995 – 2007); and President, National Council of Women Societies (NCWS), Eleme, Rivers State (2001 – 2007). She has been a member of the International Bar Association (IBA) and the International Federation of Female Lawyers (FIDA), (since 2001).
Between 2002 and 2005, she was a member of the Finance Committees of the ANPP in Rivers state, and at the national level. She is President-General, Ezidi Bu Eze Social Club, Ibusa; Matron, Anoima Brothers Cultural Group, Ibusa, as well as Matron, Dede Cultural Group of Alesa-Eleme, Rivers State (1990 till date). Ajudua is also matron, Nigerian Society of International Law (1989 till date); Council Member, Delta State Vision 2020 Committee (2009-2011); and first Vice-President, Uduaghan Ladies Vanguard (2009 till date).
With more than 22 local and international professional and other workshops/seminars to her credit, Ajudua is a true fashion icon –in theory and in practice making her an enduring face of fashion. To her credit in this regard, are more than 26 well-informed publications in credible local and international media.
She is listed in the prestigious Official Buyers’ Guides published by the American Fashion Association for the Dallas Holidays/Report ‘87 market; Dallas Spiring ‘87 market; summer market (1988); Dallas Women’s Hall Apparel market (1988); Dallas Women’s Holiday Hall II/Holiday Apparel market (June 1988); Dallas Women’s Holiday Resort Apparel Market, (June 1988) and Dallas Women’s Spring Apparel Market (Oct/Nov, 1988).
On February 1, 1988, Princess International Designs Ltd, (her establishment), was registered/listed in Texas, USA, roughly a year after she participated in the Third Annual Carribean Festival of Craft and Food Fair, New York.
As a politician, Ajudua has done enough to cover volumes, including the sponsorship of six bills, moving of myriad motions, effecting of youth/women empowerment programmes; the empowerment of more than 300 widows and facilitation of many development projects, including roads, and examination halls across her constituency.
